Introduction
Most students including me assumed that writing is one of the simplest courses in college that entails research on the internet followed by a simple compilation of what we find. I realized that Writing is however rather complex as it involves several steps. The steps include prewriting, followed by drafting, third comes revising and finally editing. Writing relates to all subjects in a student's courses. Lecturers in all the subjects I take use assignments as part of their teaching methods. The assignments come in form of research on various topics related to my course.
Lessons Learned
There are various lessons my classmates and I learned on writing and the research process. The knowledge we had was expounded particularly on the process of research and the significance of multiple sources in research. The process of research involves the gathering of sufficient information from various sources and analyzing them before writing them down. Other aspects of writing I learned in my course includes the development of the topic and relating it to the sources available. Multiple sources give us writers a deeper understanding of what we are writing about as well as the perspectives of the writers of those sources.
Application in College
Writing and research process will come in handy for my college particularly during essay writing assignments in class. With the knowledge of writing, I find it convenient to deliver quality and original work during my time in college. Once I venture into writing as a profession, the experience and expertise I learned in college will also be helpful in my career. Writing is diverse and requires adequate knowledge to deliver the most proficient and quality work which will all be based on what I learned in college.
