The free trade agreement between the United States and Mexico has empowered U.S corporations with the U.S worker seemingly being the biggest loser in the deal. The agreement implies that tens of thousands of jobs opportunities will simultaneously be shifted from America to Mexico (Sarukhan, 2018). As a result, a majority of American workers will lose jobs as companies battle to take advantage of the cheap labor in Mexico. The Mexican market is favorite to many U.S based corporations because workers in Mexico are poor and the Mexican government has done little to regulate human labor terms. The laxity of the Mexican government on corporate behavior gives companies a chance to underpay its workers in Mexico and in return earn large amounts of money. The collateral benefit of the Mexican workers and U.S corporations is however detrimental to the U.S workers. The Mexican workforce offers cheap labor alternatives to companies and the American workforce, on the other hand, is harmed in the sense that workers are forced to lower their demands so that they may match with the Mexican taskforce (Sarukhan, 2018). In this context, both the U.S corporations and the Mexican workers end up in a win-win situation because employees earn money which to them is enough while the companies take advantage of them and make abnormal profits.
Nevertheless, the shared advantage between U.S corporations and Mexican workers does not contribute to the alienation and solidarity of Mexican and U.S workers. While the American workers keeps their employment terms high, the Mexican worker is colluding with the employer to lower the standards. The economic levels in Mexico are incredibly different from those of U.S. With high levels of poverty, Mexico accommodates the kind of salaries that are somewhat unacceptable in America. As a result, companies have extensively exploited the cheap labor which has lowered the compensation schemes of many organizations in America and beyond. The cheap labor in Mexico is not taken positively by the American workers because it provides affordable labor alternative to companies making their bargain insignificant. From a neutral point of view, the excellent relationship between Mexican workers and the U.S corporations frustrates the possibilities of alienating and solidifying the U.S and Mexican workers ("What’s the Future of U.S.-Mexico Relations?", 2018). At no point will the American workers appreciate their Mexican counterparts whom they believe to collaborate with the employer to lower the standards of employment in the region. Therefore, the positive relationship between Mexican workers and U.S corporations disintegrates ties between American and Mexican workers
