The Metropolitan Museum

One of the most exciting sites to visit is the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I've now had the chance to come and appreciate the variety of artwork on display. We began by going to the Chinese Art Exhibitions, where we saw various artifacts from the Qin and Han Dynasties, also known as the Age of Empires (The Metropolitan Museum of Art).. Paintings, metalwork, ceramics, sculptures, and paintings were a few of the artistic items that we saw. I got a sense of the empire's evolution during this time period from numerous artifacts and the accompanying guide. Knowing the sophistication of the Chinese empire's "civilisation," this trip provided me a realistic sense of what life was like for those centuries prior to the development of civilization. Perhaps the most significant experience was getting to see first-hand, the great works of American photographer Irving Penn. Having the opportunity to experience more than 200 pictures that tell a story of the photographer and the industry over the last century could not be more spirit lifting. An outstanding still labelled centennial, still life of a watermelon, a twin Lens reflex Camera and images of some top models and persons gives one an idea of the expertise and simplicity with which Penn mastered his art.

The exhibition then took us to visit the Splendors of the Korean Art(The Metropolitan Museum of Art), where some of the unseen forms of art from this region were shown. However, given that I do not personally have significant experience with Korean History, I was not able to relate with the items on show.

Being an avid lover of painting, I enjoyed two images of Michelangelo Merisi, The Martyrdom of Saint Ursula and The Denial of Saint Peter(The Metropolitan Museum of Art). These are ones of the most outstanding and perfectly executed paintings that one can ever experience in their lifetime. After that, when we visited the last exhibition concerning the Show tell: Stories in Chinese Painting(The Metropolitan Museum of Art)., I had already had my time in the Museum. This was a fun experience.
