The recent political article that is entitled House rolling out two-week temporary spending plan has vividly highlighted why the house should bring into a standstill its usual business to honor the demise of President George H. W. Bush. The suggestion was brought up by the House of Representative which has requested to stop the government business until December 21st, 2018 (https://www.washingtontimes.com). Even though the normal operations of the house will be paused for a while, the House of Representative will still receive issues and then discussed after the funeral.

The Congress, on the other hand, had already approved a law that aimed at financing nearly ¾ of about $1.2 trillion budgetary allocations of the following year. Out of the share that the Congress had estimated as its budget for the year 2019, defense department had been given a priority from the monetary estimates. The money which the Congress had set aside to deal with security was going to cover their ammunition, attire, and other miscellaneous expenses (https://www.washingtontimes.com). Hence, the Congress and the House of Representative are required to agree on whether they should stop such plans or forge ahead with the national business.

Apart from securing money to cater for security purposes, the Congress had also budgeted for the labor of civil servants in the country. More so, the $1.2 trillion for the financial year 2019/2020 was going to cover critical departments such as health and the veteran matters. Nonetheless, the news pinpoints that if legislators do not take appropriate actions before Friday at 12:00 a.m., some units like commerce and justice will not be able to be funded effectively (Iggers and Jeremy 2). It is, therefore, the initiative of legislators to act before the provided time elapses since other departments might operate on a financial deficit.

To avoid the government facing difficulties in some units like Homeland Security, the paper highlights that Donald Trump is insisting that a total of $5 billion should be set aside to cater for security. The estimate is however similar to the budget which the House proposed for the DHS allocation. However, Democrats do not agree on the DHS bill that is put on the year 2019. Instead, it suggests that Donald Trump should consent with the $1.6 billion which should be directed towards DHS (Iggers and Jeremy 2). President Donald Trump, on the other hand, says that the matter is less likely to be discussed due to the loss of George H. W. Bush. In return, Trump reveals that he might sign a substitute over the weekend to allow legislators to discuss over the matter after dealing with the funeral of the late George Bush.
