As immigrants take their journey, they face many challenges in their journey. In the video, the girl and her mother engage in an immigration journey and on their way, they encounter problems which they persevere until the end when they overcome them. Through composition, context, content, color, and lighting, the video demonstrates how immigrants are faced with challenges and difficulties not only from their homeland but also when undertaking their immigration journey, which affects both the children and adults in America.
The video is about the immigration of a family comprising of a mother and her daughter. The video is short but has an effective composition of how events were unfolding from the beginning to the end when the family arrives where they were going. Its focus is clear because it is meant to show how the immigrating families experience challenges in their journey such as finding the wall, which challenged them to pass through. The manner through which the immigrating family engages in the journey passing through challenging situations because of the strong wind is fascinating. Besides, the qualifications to be a legal immigrant are highly demanding.
The video has clear lighting enhancing images and things to be viewed well, as the darkness demonstrates the problems and hardships experienced by the immigrating family, as it struggles to look for a peaceful place to settle in America. Through the first look at the video, the elements that are easily visible are; a girl, the mother, and a place of a resident with some small houses. By looking at how the daughter reacted to her mother, I realized that things were not going on well. Therefore I felt sympathy to see the girly spending a sleepless night to wake her mother early in the morning so that they could leave.
The context of the video is in an immigration journey since it shows the family leaving their home place and struggling on their way until they arrive at their destiny. The image comprises of the historical issue of families immigrating in search for a place where they would settle or reside in and where they have a hope of lending a better life. By looking at the video, I felt pity at the family, which had to migrate with the small girl facing the same hardships as the mother did. The issue of a strong wind blowing and interfering with the immigrants' ability to move or walk astonished me to the extent of seeing the dangers that immigrants have to face on their way to look for a better place to settle due to the problems and issues affecting their home area.
In conclusion, the composition of the particular video helps one to follow the immigration journey of the family from the beginning to the end. Through clear lighting, it is possible to notice different times of the day, night and daytime, and understand events as they happen. The context of the video is in an immigration journey whereby a family of a girl and her mother are immigrating to America and happen to face troubles on their way because of the nature of means of transport. The video also intends at enabling the viewer to understand the problems and challenges faced by immigrants including lack of way through to the immigrants’ destination.
