According to the text, Gamble and Gamble elucidate that free speech is an understanding and vocalization of one's belief. Balancing free speech and ethical speech means the speech deliverer should be wary of the attitude and sensitivity towards the topic to be discussed based on the target audience (Gamble and Gamble 20).
Free speech on the one hand, according to Gamble and Gamble, gives a person the opportunity to provide information based on their perspective. On the other side, ethical speech is an essential regulatory measure to ensure that attitude and proper guidance during free speech presentation. In other words, balancing between free speech and right speech means that there ought to be some form of dedication to providing their standpoint about a critical issue happening in the society, they are limited by how they do so (Gamble and Gamble 21).
Ethical speech offers a benchmark for how a speech deliverer is meant to produce the information given the sensitivity regarding the audience targeted.
Freedom of Speech
Freedom of speech on the internet has diverted to a more un-censored ideology where people are transitioning from respectful commenting on a more explicit exception. Unlike previous moderation in freedom of speech, the internet has allowed people to engage frequently with what they think without consequences regardless of the harm it may cause another individual (TedTalk).
In most cases, humans are expected to practice some form of discretion and behavior, but, with the internet, there is no regard for boundaries or limitations. As such, the internet has affected the concept of "freedom of speech." Therefore, this has changed our version of freedom as people are no longer protected constitutionally under the freedom of speech mantra.
