The Existence of God

Does God exist?

One of the most significant questions that many individuals across the globe often ask themselves is whether God really exists. Various people have different beliefs on the existence of God, and this has had various implications on their morality, humanity, and destiny. However, there are several reasons to believe in the presence of God. Some of which demonstrate how life would be meaningless without God. Therefore, this paper seeks to give substantial reasons to believe that God exists.

Aquinas' Argument

According to Aquinas, God's existence can be of three possibilities. His existence has based some reasons which include uncaused things that have possession in the universe. It is believed that the earth had no beginning and that there was a possibility of certain creatures depending on it for survival. These creatures could not just exist from nowhere. They must have come from somewhere or maybe, were created by someone. So, who was behind their existence? Whoever was behind the existence of the earth and the creatures was a supernatural being who was believed to be God (Bliss 250). It was therefore concluded that since nothing ever lived, then nothing could lead to nothing since nothing could come out of nothing. Consequently, it was the supernatural being that could have created all the creatures in the universe hence proving the existence of God.

The Existence of Evil

Another argument is that there exists evil in the universe. It is believed that God is the only person who can deal with the evil. This is based on some reasons such as God being omnipotent thus he has the power to stop all the present evil from occurring on earth. Such believe also affirms the existence of God. Also, God is omniscient meaning that he knows everything that happens in the universe (Banea et al. 18). He is therefore in a position to see all the bad things that occur hence he knows when all the evils exist. Additionally, God is omnibenevolent which displays that he is all loving thus has the desire to eliminate all the evil-doing by human beings. Based on the above arguments, it can be concluded that God definitely exists as it has been proved by different reasons such as his ability to deal with evil.
