The End of Men
In the article, The End of Men, the author categorically points out that the historical dominance of men has finally come to an end with women becoming more preferable in the modern society. According to the author, women fit into the modern, postindustrial society much better than men who were more suited to the passing industrial era in which they had an undoubted universal preference (Rosin, 2012). This topic is significant because it not only seeks to explain why women are becoming the majority of the U.S. workforce but also to serve us with the true reality of the changing world with respect to gender dominance.
Shifting Focus
The passing of the historical male dominance era is as real as elaborated in the article. In highly developing countries, such as the U.S., focus is fast shifting from the traditional industrial jobs to the more clerical and professional jobs which are better suited for women (Rosin, 2012). Also, in terms of the keys of economic progress and success, focus has shifted from the dependence on physical strength and stamina to thinking and communicating, better suited for women. This is because the most valuable attributes today, including open communication, social intelligence, as well as the ability to sit and focus, are very much indifferent to the men's size and strength (Rosin, 2012). Furthermore, the expected growing jobs are mainly those in which women seem to be well suited for.
Shifting Power Dynamics
In the article, the author clearly shows how the power dynamics are radically shifting between the men and the women, something which is more likely to have implications on marriage and work among other important aspects of life. Generally, the article shows us the realities of the changing world and how we can adapt to it for the betterment of the future.
