Although sharing of knowledge with other people assists in improving their understanding, at some points, it is associated with negative consequences.
I agree with Plato’s allegory of the Cave that sharing information with others results to negative outcomes. Plato's allegory is that prisoners live in the chain in a cave. Through the puppeteer's shadows, prisoners manage to understand the reality about the world. The world is formed and controlled by some individuals while others live in reliance on other's knowledge. As technology advances by transport, education, and internet, the puppeteer becomes irrelevant in human lives. We live in a world where the media controls the major part of human life where we rely on what we are told.
It is true as per the allegory of the cave that learners are blinded by the only things they are allowed to see and know. The truth is rarely believed, and that is why sharing knowledge has to be done with some limits. However, by sharing all the true information, this might lead to negative impacts because the learner would not believe the educator. Besides, the shared knowledge is the only one that is capable of affecting individuals and enhancing their performance. It is normally time-consuming and risky because of the possibility of losing individual status and power to the learner. Having been living in a world of fantasy, people are only informed by what is done by those who are identified to know much. The moment the learners realize that all they have believed is lies; this might lead to loss of trust and the demand for justice. The moment people begin seeing things the way they want, they make judgments of what is wrong, and what is right and the one sharing knowledge might be in danger.
