Critical Evaluation of the Article
Usually, determination of the credibility of sources of information is essential in validating the authority of assertions the author is trying to put across. Various criteria are available for evaluating the sources of information. For instance, the article lacks authenticity. The author failed to draw his inferences from credible sources when making assertions on the subject matter. In other words, no finding from empirical research studies to provide statistical inferences on the points that the author is trying to communicate to the readers.
Additionally, assessment of the audience and reasoning in the article reveals that, to a more significant degree, the source is not credible to convey factual information. Moreover, Seth’s paper seems to target a specific audience in a given professional field rather than the general public. Reliable sources of information tend to be rich in factual information mainly targeting a particular area (McCrudden, Bråten, & Braasch, 2018).
Personal Reflection
The assessment of the reading materials in the evaluation of information provides some insights into the consumption of informational data from different sources. For example, it is possible to use biased sources in creating and developing an argument in a given topic of interest. However, doing so can only lead to misrepresentation of information and production of weak papers.
