The video highlights about the racial stereotypes that exist in the world. Most people fear to report cases which involve the white people. On the other hand, they find it easier to report the black people who have committed a similar crime (Racial Stereotyping). In the video, the director shows a white man who is trying to steal a bicycle. Many people pass by but do not bother on what he was doing. When asked about the act, they claim whites are loyal and therefore cannot steal from other people.
Moreover, when a black man indulges in the same act, people take photos to show evidence that he was stealing. They go to the extent of calling the police to inform them about the act. When the police arrest the accused black person, they beat him without giving him an opportunity to express himself. Besides, when a black and white person engage in a conflict, the white individual is perceived to be good while the black person is seen as the guilty one. It is also evident that ugly individuals are vulnerable to criminal accusations (Racial Stereotyping). On the other hand, pretty people are regarded as good and cannot carry out illegal activities. Such stereotypes result in inequality in the society where some people are treated better than others. Also, it can lead to conflicts since white people will always accuse the black people of committing crimes.
Therefore, there is need to resolve the issue of racial stereotyping to reduce injustice in the society. The issue has made innocent people suffer for crimes committed by others. Members of society should resolve their perception or opinion about specific groups or individuals. Also, governments should endeavor to arrest those people who spread the impression that blacks and ugly people are always criminals.
