This proposal includes two photographs from modern photography as well as two proposals. They do, though, share a common thread in modernity and history. The two photographs reflect the complex society that exists in the twenty-first century. The humanities, on the other hand, use a variety of subject matter to express the message.
The first picture features a bottle of wine photographed against a backdrop flower on a table. The photographs convey a calm and relaxed atmosphere, implying a restaurant. The flower context is important in establishing the mood and theme of the picture. A romantic atmosphere is created by the flower as it makes the audience imagine the kind of scenario anticipated.
As part of tourism and globalization, consumption of cultural phenomenon has become the main subject of the contemporary of art. Global tourism has shifted the consumption patterns of the masses, as experiences of others influence the process. Image galleries document the experiences of people as a way of testifying that they “were there” when the events happened. Accordingly, photography has become part of the modern art particularly because of its implications on the modern cultures.
The beauty of the image as reflected by the glass and the flower also indicates the beauty of the cultures that the 21st century is embracing. The material used to create the arts also play a critical role in influencing the consumption of the art. When considering this image, it uses digital canvas, and it is digitally recorded. Accordingly, it has all its finer details shown all through from the background to foreground. The depth of field is defined; hence, giving the image a three dimension texture which is pleasing to look at.
The aesthetics of the photograph plays a significant role in the interpretation of the theme. It is through its aesthetics of composition that the audience can deduce the implication of the image. The composition also supports the theme through the arrangement of the elements in such a way that the audience can anticipate the event that is likely to happen as indicated by the photograph.
The image in this context continues the theme of culture through indicating how cultures have changed. The modern society expects that those who are dating go out to date hotels where they experience different cuisines. Tourism is also indicated as a significant part of an exchange of cultures as through it people can learn and experience other cultures.
The second image uses a black and white texture notably showing the different shades of black and white photography. The image of the young woman perhaps looking in the mirror has a different meaning. The lady can assumed to be looking at something on her cheek close to her mouth. One can assume that whatever the lady is looking at is something that is not that appealing to her. Such impression is created by the look on her face particularly her eyes.
The greyish color on the background does not tell what is happening, but it creates an impression that it is precisely used to conceal her background. The lady appears as though she is from her bathroom and that she is trying to look out at something that seems unusual on her cheek. This image is also a representation of the modern art and cultures. The use of the shade of black and white shows a fusion of the old cultures and the modern cultures. During the old days when color pigmentation was not fully discovered, the photographs used shades of black and white. It is a trait that is also applied in the modern photography but when the photographer wants to achieve some aspects of aesthetics. When applied it creates the impression of the old days and the cultures that existed in those days.
As part of the selected exhibition, the photograph closes the gap of modernity with the past through fusing the two cultures. The audience can see the aesthetics of the image while the photograph itself tells a story and expands on the theme of the culture. Thus, this image is selected partly to motivate creativity, to fuse cultures, and to show that modern and the past can be bridged harmoniously.
Conclusively, cultures are the way people live. They can change or improve depending on the communities of changes in time. Preferences might also shift from one generation to another, but when they are fused effectively, they create an astonishing beauty as noted in the last image. Aesthetics improve people’s appreciation of cultures and most importantly the interactions of cultures through exchanges of ideas among people. The two pieces of art establish a good connection between cultures and how they influence people’s lives from different walks of lives. In this light, this report focus on the growth of cultures as the central theme represented by the two images while the exchange of cultures as supported by tourism influences the growth of cultures.
