The HP Pavilion Notebook 15 and Samsung Galaxy S5 smartphone are important for business operations. Because of their portability, these hardware products are recommended. The HP Pavilion Laptop features include: Intel Core i5 with up to 3.1 GHz processing speed, 8 Gigabytes Random Access Memory (8 GB RAM) and 1 Terabyte Hard Disk Drive (1 TB HDD) storage (Billies, 2016). The speed of the processor facilitates fast access and conversion of data to the computer. The 8 GB RAM improves the computer’s performance and the 1 terabyte Hard Disk Drive storage is essential for storing company data and the customer supplies (Billies, 2016).
The laptop is also fitted with WIFI (Wireless Fidelity) and Bluetooth. These wireless technologies are useful in data transfer and internet connectivity. Further, the laptop has a webcam and microphone, which are useful in making video conference calls to clients (Billies, 2016). The Samsung Galaxy S5 is a good smartphone as it uses the latest android version and has a high quality front camera that allows for video calls. More to this, the smartphone has a durable battery and is water proof (Kim, 2016).

Operating systems coordinate the basic functions of the computer. Operating systems available in the market include; Windows, Linux, Ubuntu and Mac OS X (Tanenbaum, 2014). The HP Pavilion laptop comes with Windows 10 Operating System, which is user friendly. Additionally, Windows 10 has an inbuilt firewall that is important for security. The firewall protects the computer from viruses, Trojans and hackers (Billies, 2016).
Other technologies
Other technologies like cloud storage are very important for the business. Google Drive is a good example of cloud storage. It is available to Android smartphones and tablets running on Android 4.1. The smartphone needs to be up to date with the released Operating System and other software updates (Dinh, 2013). Google Drive allows file sharing, which is ideal for the business when sharing a list of the supplies and orders to the manufacturers. The file sharing will limit the number of times needed to travel to the manufacturers and suppliers, hence saving on cost. The cloud storage can be synced with other devices, allowing easy access to company files in any location (Dinh, 2013).
Software and training
The software that is highly recommended for the security of data is the Kaspersky Anti-virus and the Kaspersky Internet Security. Kaspersky Anti-virus protects against data loss from virus and malware while Kaspersky Internet Security protects against internet threats and protects personal information. Kaspersky software is easy to use and therefore there is no need to enroll for classes. Furthermore, the software comes with an owner’s manual (Patnaik, 2015).
