Islam and Its Teachings
Islam is a faith founded on the teachings of the holy book called Quran, which contains various lessons, such as the existence of the sacred realities of the religion. The first element which Islam celebrates is the existence of the angels of God, whom according to the Quran, are creatures that move around the earth in unseen form. It is said that angels are created from light and have six hundred wings that protect the horizon. The most potent Angel is called Gabriel.
Celebration of God and Unity
Furthermore, Islam celebrates God and the unity that is related to Him. According to Quran chapters, there is only one Allah who has neither a family nor was born. Allah is omniscient, transcended, and He has no partner and it is an obligation of each Muslim to pay tributes to Him five times each day. Those who go against the will of Allah will face Jahannam, which is a place that rebellious men combine with stones to burn.
The Holy Quran as the Scripture
The other element of Islamic faith is the scripture, which is called the Holy Quran. It states that before its existence on the earth, Allah had given several messengers books like Taurat, Zabur, and Injil to reach His people. Quran was the last book to ascend on earth through prophet Mohammed; peace be upon him. According to Islam, the book contains everything that God intended to pass to the believers. Additionally, the book consists of God's messengers, with Mohammed as His last and most significant prophet. Thus, Muslims must emulate his way of life for them to enter Jannah. The final element is the day of judgment, where God will punish the wrongdoers, and the righteous will go to Jannah. Many Muslims believe that the paradise has good things like plenty of food and beautiful ladies. Therefore, Muslims encourage each other to live as brothers so that they can go to Jannah.
The Five Pillars of Islam
There are five pillars of the Islam Religion that gives believers a preferred direction to be followed in life. Firstly, there is Shahada where they declare their faith that "There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad (SAW) is His final messenger." Here, Muslims acknowledge that Allah only is to be worshiped and no other gods. They as well trust in his prophet called Mohammed. Thus, the pillar is said in every Adhan, before performing prayers.
The other pillar is Salat or prayer that is done five times every day. The practice is carried out while facing Mecca, a place where Muhammad received the Holy Quran. It is done after ablution and also grooming correctly by covering most of the body. A person must say a short du'a before, during, and after prayers. There is humbling of an individual during Salat where several steps such as kneeling, bending and standing are done. Moreover, in each process, there is rak'a where specific intercessions are made to God. Here, Sura-tul-Fatiha is said followed by other readings from Quran. The woman in the picture is on the last step of prayers where palms are put together to ask Allah for forgiveness, praying for others, praying for Muhammad as well as seeking God for safe ending in life.
Finally, the pillar of Sawm is done in the Holy month of Ramadhan by avoiding sinning, eating, and practicing sex. Failure to participate in Sawm by Muslims is Israff and leads to punishment on judgment day. There is also offered of the Zakat where 2.5% of the savings is given to the poor. Hajji, the 12th Islamic month, is accomplished by the rich visiting Mecca at least once before they die. Visiting the pilgrimage adds thawab to a person, hence increasing the chances of going to paradise.
