Fashion as an Expression
Fashion is a word that has a significant meaning in my daily life. With each passing day of my life apart from studies, my mind has always deviated and thought about fashion. From choosing the clothes to wear each day, to accessories as well as shoes. Makeup and hairstyles are also a part of fashion. Therefore, according to me, fashion is the general style of a person that enhances appearance concerning clothing, makeup, footwear, accessories and the general body looks. It is also a form of expression.\u00a0 Fashion has also reflected the cultural and economic changes that have taken place over the years. Therefore fashion is subject to change because of the evolving world. Fashion is also an expression of the modern times and trends and symbolizes the current times and spirit. With fashion, individuals have communicated non verbally expressing their gender, occupation, class, rank as well as their wealth and financial capabilities. People are free to choose their desired trends in fashion. Therefore, fashion is a form of free speech, and different people desire different trends in fashion. Fashion has enabled me to express myself to the outside world. What I choose to wear every day expresses my ideas and general perspective to others.<\/p>
Fashion and Identity
Through my fashion, others can identify and understand me. It has also helped me to promote my identity in the society. In the society today, people are judged according to how they dress. Having a sense of fashion, therefore, has helped many individuals to identify with a particular group and gain recognition. A first impression is obtained from the type of clothes as well as how presentable a person is. Personality judgments have also been based on the looks of an individual. Therefore, fashion has been used by many to enhance personal and create an impressive first impression on others. Fashion has also enhanced respect among members of the society. Through the looks of an individual and how they wear, one can obtain respect from other members of the society. Descent dress codes accompanied with decent accessories and footwear among different age groups have determined the respectability of these individuals.<\/p>
Fashion as Art and Design
Designers have defined fashion as an art of applying natural beauty and design to accessories and clothing. Factors such as social attitudes and culture have influenced the fashion design industry which continues to witness changes every day due to new inventions. Changes have occurred due to competition that pushes the designers to make fashionable designs that are more aesthetically pleasing and functional.<\/p>
The Evolution of Fashion
Fashion has been evolving since the twelfth century due to the influence that was brought by the western world. The first fashion house was run and started by early designers in the nineteenth century. The first fashionista was known as Charles Fredrick worth who created the first designs. Some people view clothing as a basic need or just a form of comfort or rather just covering the body and keeping warm, but for me, clothing is more than just that. For me clothing is fashion, and I aim at using my clothing to express fashion. Trough fashion I can express my identity and show the world who I am.\u00a0 The different fashion styles also provide a chance for me to use the different fashion choices available to express my ideas, feelings, and thoughts thus my unique definition of fashion.<\/p>
