Prehistoric art and architecture have shown a representation of the practices and activities that the early man engaged in. The latter provides an understanding of the protective measures, dietary habits, and other engagements in the ancient periods. For instance, the elements are displayed through images of animals in cave paintings represented the food that they consumed, as seen in Lascaux, France. Besides, Paleolithic art used pictorial images in caves to provide recognition of humans and animals and their environmental representation. The importance of the art work was to give guidance on the ways of living and survival. Shapur's Palace
Shapur I was one of the rulers who preserved his legacy through architectural creations. The son of Artaxerxes initiated the erection of a great palace in the capital of his father. In essence, the Shapur's palace had a central feature, monumental iwan, also called brick audience hall. The latter was covered using a vault and raised 100 feet from the ground. In addition, he applied blind arcades, which was a decoration applied on the walls. Napir-Asu as a female ruler also left a legacy that is remembered through the creation of a portrait. In the portrait, the ideal queen is represented as one who played a critical role in ensuring that successions are done successfully. The Elamite statue represented the characteristics such as strong arms, bracelets, and rings used by the queen, and gown made by fabrics. Therefore, it presented the nature of art that she was involved in.
