This will ensure that every individual enjoys his or her rights as a citizen. Therefore, every person is supposed to be given equal rights so that they compete favorably with other people for equal opportunities.
After the cold war United States and United Nations have been involved in the economic and political reforms and ensuring peace is enhanced (Smith 6). Therefore, they will assist in ensuring democracy is improved and people are treated equally. Gorbachev declared that the end of the cold war was a victory for common sense and democracy. Therefore, he emphasized that the world needed to be a union of democratic states.
The great struggles of the twentieth century are to ensure that nations are always protecting human rights. This will assure their political prosperity. As President Bush said that the only way to achieve liberty is the expansion of freedom in all nations (Smith 7). Also, in 2007 President Obama speaking in Chicago he emphasized that American leadership was tasked to lead the world in battling the immediate evils and enhancing fairness . Therefore, the purpose of America is to promote the spread of freedom, and he proposed the increase of nation-building aid.
Wilson also cites the great strategy Egypt did in the realization of democracy. Genuine democracy carries the day, and it has now enhanced its role of responsible leadership (Smith 5). Also, the United States appreciated the universal rights of Libyan people.
In conclusion for peace to prevail the world democracy must be enhanced. It will enable people to interact in harmony which will result in mutual understanding between nations.
