For my song, I picked "bosses don't speak” by Migos. Comparing “How'm I Doing, Hey Hey” by The Mill Brothers to “Bosses don’t speak”, one can certainly see a great difference in technology between this two musics. During the earlier days, one can tell that musicians had to first learn how to play instruments before recording their music. However, that is no longer the case, in today’s society since most styles rely on computer programs ("Migos - Bosses Don't Speak", 2018). From The Mill Brothers’ song, one would be right to say that old music depended heavily on melody and for that reason, the composers definitely took a lot of time creating music. This, however, is not the case with the music of today where musicians only take a few hours to compose music. The dress code of The Mill Brothers is very formal ("The Mills Brothers - How'm I Doin', Hey, Hey", 2018). This is however, the exact opposite of how the Migos dress while they are performing.
Unlike in the past, today technology has advanced so much since it is possible to digitally make any instrument. In their song, “How'm I Doing, Hey Hey”, The Mill Brothers used their voice to produce instruments. However, if The Mill Brothers were to record that song today, there is a high likelihood that they would have triggered audio performing. Just like The Mill Brothers’s “How'm I Doing, Hey Hey” song, Anilyst’s song, “Done As Much” was also inspired by some friends sitting around free styling, and beat boxing. The slang in “How'm I Doing, Hey Hey” and “Done As Much” are totally different. Most of the slangs are either generational or regional.
