Religious Beliefs and Artistic Evidence
Religious beliefs are based on artistic pieces of evidence of Biblical texts, commentaries, and apocryphal stories. Religion has well been explained through aesthetic devices, for instance, imagery (Minneapolis Institute of Art). The arts have given religion authenticity, and people have grown steadfast faith in Christianity due to its traceability.
Christianity and the Existence of a Supernatural Being
Christianity is about the spiritual existence of a supernatural being who is the creator of the Universe. People hold Christian beliefs because of the vast existing evidence of Christianity that has been documented through arts. Artists have developed their works to show their religious beliefs and faith, thus describing their opinions on Biblical, historical events (Minneapolis Institute of Art).
Devotional Works and Strengthening Faith
Devotional works are related to Bible stories and events and are done to improve people's faith and make them firm believers. Most arts are dramatic and have a substantial impact on individuals' emotions (Minneapolis Institute of Art). Most drama and plays developed by artists about the suffering of Jesus and his crucifixion have a significant effect of eliciting emotions on believers and making them hold tightly to the Christian beliefs and develop a sense of love.
Artworks in Christian Rituals and Remembrance
Some artworks are used in Christian rituals and remembrance of specific events captured in the Bible (Minneapolis Institute of Art). Paintings, drama, and sculptures have been designed to depict the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem. These artistic works are used during the annual commemoration of the birth of Jesus, and they give the believers actual set of events that happened many centuries ago.
The Interlink Between Arts and Religion
Therefore, arts and religion are closely interlinked subjects as artists develop and perform their works based on their religious beliefs. Religion is given a sense of belonging and authenticity through existing artistic works. Most explanations about Christianity emanate from existing arts and believers can find more information about their religion so that they continue Christianity to the next generations.
