All an employee of ABC Company who is well informed with the business process of the company, which includes the establishment of the adult entertainment retail store, you are expected to invest all your efforts in realizing the excellent outcome of this project (Tullberg 113). Having close relations with Owen who has a property in the neighborhood where the land purchased by the ABC Company is lies and has an interest in selling it, you should advise Owen prudently. It is expected that when the construction of adult entertainment retail store is established, the value of the property in the neighborhood will depreciate significantly. Owen has the right he insists on waiting for the value of the property to appreciate to benefit from sale maximally. The ethical obligation dictates you to adhere to the set working standards of ABC Company, which is keeping information about this project after four weeks’ time. From now when the Company will be ready to make public this news. On the other hand, you should inform Owen of the expected negative issues that may arise upon waiting till the price appreciates (William 24).

In our case, although informing his brother Owen about ABC company plans about building an adult entertainment retail store, could be a breach of the company policies, universal ethics might need that Luke should tell his brother to take in his decision whether to retain or to sell the house plot, the ethical issue is that Luke is also obliged not to disclose his company plans to third parties. However, Luke has the moral duty to help his brother make a better decision to make life better and promote good things (Fredrick 17). Therefore, an ethical dilemma that arises is whether or not Luke should tell his brother about his company plans and how it may affect the real estate market. By doing so, Owen will be in a position to make a better decision of selling his house now at the current good real estate price and avoid selling the product at a low price in future (Elmark 6).
Given universal ethics which are generally accepted principles, we should be what is acceptable to all people regardless of gender, race, and other social differences. Luke has the moral duty to act on what is best for his brother Owen by telling him despite the outcome of breaching their company's secrecy. Now the different ethical views are evident that the decision that Luke will make should be universal. That in his favor, brother and the ABC Company where he works (Tullberg 45).
Analysis
This shows that Luke should make a decision that will promote good in society by ensuring that Owen gets the best deal when selling his property (Mosher 19). To apply the Golden Rule, it is essential that you imagine yourself in the exact place of another person who you are doing something too. It is required. Likely, Luke should put himself on his brother Owen shoes and imagine distinctly on what Owen would have done in his post. The decision he makes should be based on what he expects his brother to do to him if he was in his position (William 10). Therefore, Virtue ethics demands that Luke should act in good faith and that his decision should only be influenced by good intention and doing what is right in the community. If Luke decline to tell his brother Owen about the ABC Company plans, then Owen might not sell his house now at the good current price. Therefore, he might end up selling the home at a loss price in future. Indeed, wisdom requires that Luke accepts all the range of considerations wholeheartedly as reasons (Fredrick 13).
Recommendation
The above ethical ideologies discussed shows that Luke should make a decision that will bring forth common good. Indeed, Luke should weigh the outcome of telling his brother Owen about their company plan to acquire and build an adult entertainment center in their neighborhood. Luke should confidentiality keep dealings about their company (Tullberg 63). Nevertheless, usually, duty requires that Luke should help his brother to get the best price deal when selling the land. Therefore, Luke should consider informing his brother Owen that the property values for the surrounding neighborhood where Owen house is located will decrease in future because their company is planning to build an adult entertainment retail store (Elmark 24).
He needs to know that his telling Owen about the adult entertainment store may not have the effect he wants. There may be a high possibility that his brother puts the house up for sale before the construction on the project begins, but that doesn't mean that the house will sell for the price he wants or that it will sell at all. Also, what if he's telling his brother causes an entirely different problem? What if his brother tells others in the neighborhood and this causes the residents of the area to petition the ban of this adult entertainment store in the community, creating a bigger problem? These consequences would not produce the greatest good for everyone involved (Mosher 16). The advice should be given by Luke to his brother to sell the house now at the "okay" price given the current real estate market because the prices might drop in future.
Golden Rule
The ethical principle of the Golden Rule advocates for an individual doing good for the people in the society. Golden Rule also subjects an individual the interest of other people heart and to manage to keep the interest as their priority. Luke might forego to uphold the legal bond that his has with ABC Company and decide to disclose the little secret to Owen. Before Luke deciding to either choose to disclose the information to his brother, he should be able to put himself at the position that Owen is in this case. Owen also needs to assess the implications of the issues and how the problem might negatively affect him before deciding the issue. The move will enable him to have a valid perception of self which reflects on the true feelings of Owen. The secret will play a significant role in ensuring that Luke can sell the property to the potential buyer who will save from future losses which will be caused by the adult entertainment store. Moreover, the act might also protect the properties of other individuals in the society as it will ensure that these people. The actions of Luke will be considered to be highly moral as he will save the future of most people in his society.
Moreover, the act will put his career at risk which indicates the greater extents that Luke is willing to safeguard the interest of the people in his family and the community in general. The implications of Luke failing to disclose the information about the project to his brother Owen will be highly adverse. Golden rule will subject Luke to apply critical thinking skills before making his decision.
Virtue Ethics
The virtue of ethics emphasizes on individual doing well onto others as he or she will also require an individual to practice well to him. In this case. ABC Company is planning to set up an adult entertainment store which aims at increasing the sales and profits of the organization. The strategy will benefit the company whereas the community that the retail store will be set up will be affected adversely by the setting up of the store. Luke is an ethical dilemma in which the action that he will take will attract dire consequences from one of the parties involved in the case. Virtual ethics will subject Luke to indulge in practical thinking to solve the situation. Rational reasoning will ensure that the Luke evaluates the issues at both angles and indicate the side is correct on the matter. Virtual ethics will allow Luke to put the interests of Luke and his community at the forefront before making his choice. The decision of disclosing the information will enable Owen to save a great deal of money as the value of property in the region will drop drastically. Owen needs to be aware of the decision to set an adult entertainment shop as it will enable to make him to either decide to buy the property or keep the property.
In Aristotle virtue of ethics, Aristotle explains that an individual who has an excellent character is supposed to do the right thing. In his case, Luke has to be morally upright to handle the issues. Good moral conduct which is an essential virtue that Luke possesses will allow him to disclose the information to his brother Luke. The action might not sound ethical to the company, but the decision will play a significant role in upholding his relationship with his brother and at the same time help Owen sell the property to avoid future losses that will be attributed to the presence of the adult shop in his neighborhood. According to Aristotle virtue ethics, Luke will have done the right thing by disclosing the information to his brother as he would have acted on the best interest of his brother, not the company. The decision that Luke would apply in this case will indicate his contrary opinion to the new idea of the company which he believes will attract negative consequences to the society.
Eudaemonist Virtue Ethics advocates for individuals performing actions that will bring happiness into the lives of other people in society. Eudaemonist Virtue Ethics will put Luke in apposition that will ensure that Luke decides on which side to take on the ethical issues on the benefit that the decision will have to the individual. In this case, involving ABC Company and his brother Owen, it would be more convenient for Luke to decide to disclose the information according to Eudaemonist Virtue Ethics. Choosing to disclose the information will enable Owen to evade a future disaster that the adult entertainment retail store will bring to the society. The decision will allow Owen to accept the offer as in the future the value of the property in the area will decrease drastically. The selling of the property will make Owen happy as he would have acquired a profitable offer for his property.
