The artwork Madre, 2008 is one of the fine works of Maria Cristina Carlini. The name Madre is an interpretation of “Mother”. The art piece comprises of a large metal orb which has been artfully broken down in a manner that creates the impression of the different continents of the earth. The Madre, 2008 is considered a fascinating integration of both grace and strength which can be seen from the measurements and the use of materials in putting together the artwork. The piece measures 200x200x170 with artful cuts which mark the separation of continents of the earth.
