The design and layout of these buildings was significant and different from most building structure across India. Kangra is a district that belongs to the state of Himachal Pradesh (Kaviraj 32). PART TWO

ESSAY

Jainism is a religion that has bearings from India. Just like any other religion, it has its own beliefs and life teachings (Keith & Arhtur 17). The main aim of this religion is to create a form of life where one is able to liberate their Soul for redemption. Some of the basic beliefs of Jainism are that people should live together in peace and harmony or in other words they should co-exist in ahimsa or in a ‘non – violence’ nature. Other major believes are based on anekantavada which reflects on non – absolutism and aparigraha which centers on non – progressiveness (Coltman & Viccy 27). There are very many ways in which the icons of Jains compare to those of the Buddha. Some of the main ways through which these two religions can be seen to relate with one another is that they originate from the same place. Both of these religions have a history of being formed In India.

The icons of Jains also compare to those of the Buddha in that they have the same place for worshipping their God. Both if these religions go to the temple to praise and give thanks to God (Mukerjee 38). The cultural beliefs of these Communities are also similar in a way: Non – violence is a common belief or practices among these are two religions. Some of the main artistic conventions in relation to the sutra illustrations include forms of art that made a great contribution to the Indian architecture and art (Kaviraj 67). Most of the Indian buildings in Jain areas are constructed using iconography and layouts that represent the Jain culture and form of art.

Mughals can be defined as a group of people who lived in the empire of Mughal (Jasper 14). This empire was self-designated as Gurkani. The main accomplishment that people made was that they built a successful empire that was very strong. This was one of the most successful empires across the whole of the Indian Sub-continent. This dynasty was so strong that it managed to pull for quite a long time (Coltman & Viccy 40). This dynasty was formed in the year 1526 and was destroyed in the year 1857. Another great achievement of the Akbar people is that they achieved a very high degree of tolerance when it comes to tolerance in religion. They established a religion that was very powerful and strong (Keith & Arhtur 63). They affected the Indian Culture in numerous ways: A good example to explain on this is that they created a new form of culture and living standard among this people. A new religion was formed as well as a diverse culture different from the original one.

They introduced a unique form of painting known as the Mughal painting as well as architecture that had structural designs that was related to the Mughal people. Some of the main rulers of the Mughal people are Akbar, Babur and Humayun (Coltman & Viccy 85). Each one of them had an impact on the culture of art: Akbar was a great painter who drew very many significant paintings. Babur on the other hand contributed in art due to his love for literature, gardening and music (Jasper 59). He contributed greatly towards the growth of this forms of art. Humayun contributed to art in that he focused mostly on structure and design. Most if his concepts were based on the art of architecture. He had a passion for this field.

The Christian Community at Golden Goa has a big influence to the Indian art and culture. A good example that can be used to explain on this fact is that a considerable number of people who belong to other religions such as the Hindus and Muslims have converted and joined the Christian Religion (Mukerjee 63). This community has also contributed to the Indian Culture in that they have developed a new way of living contrary to the religious beliefs that were set before. Over time, the regional Painting has developed at a considerable length. Different styles can be used to explain on the prevalence of the artistic technique and artistic format in relation to painting. The Rajasthani is one style of painting that flourished and evolved from the royal Courts of Rajputana (Keith & Arhtur 78). It involves painting buildings in a form that is very unique. The Mughal painting originated from the south of Asia and is generally confined to small miniatures which include illustrations from books as well as works that are single and portrayed in albums.

The evolution of gardens under Mughal has undergone through a lot of phases. Complexity in the Mughal architecture has changed with time. One of the most significant buildings in relation to the Mughals is the Taj Mahal Agra (Kaviraj 26). Other examples of Gardens include Ram Bagh, Nishat gardens and the Shalimar Bagh. Other types of garden include the Safdarjung’s and Mehtab Bagh (Keith & Arhtur 49). These gardens are built in a way that they have structures that relate to religion. Some of these gardens have structures that represent the religion of different people in the society today. Most of the materials that are used in the construction of gardens depict the religion of the people.
