Explorers
Explorer is a word that means “a person who sets out to explore something or someone”. It is used primarily in reference to travel, however, it can also be used in a more general sense to describe people who seek new experiences.
Funded by Governments
An explorer is often funded by a government or a ruler in order to discover new parts of the world. They may be looking for trade routes, gold, or other resources.
Claiming New Lands
Usually, they claim the land that they find in the name of their country. This was the case with Christopher Columbus and Vasco da Gama.
Explorers as Scientists
Many explorers are scientists trying to learn about new places or animals. They may also be seeking to test their physical limits in order to achieve a personal goal.
In Search of Unique Experiences
The explorer may go into caves, use the sea, or even fly. They often do not want to be seen as tourists and are interested in experiencing the environment around them.
Types of Explorers
The Drifter
Another type of explorer is the drifter. This is a tourist who is willing to sacrifice comforts in order to experience the environment. They may do so for a short time or they may be on a long trip.
The Spelunker
A third type of explorer is the spelunker. These are people who go into the depths of a cave or lake to explore the natural world, and they often carry out their research using instruments that are attached to satellites.
Adventurous and Unusual
An explorer may be found in the mountains of Europe, in the jungles of South America, or on the surface of the moon. They are usually very adventurous people who try to do something unusual and unique in order to gain new knowledge.
Windows Explorer
This PC Icon
When a user selects the This PC icon on the toolbar, Windows Explorer replaces the toolbar's Home tab with a Computer tab that allows the user to open a list of network drives, add a network location, and more. The explorer also displays a graphical view of the local and mapped network drives, as well as the total capacity of each drive.
Toolbar Features
The toolbar has a number of other tabs, including a search bar, which can be used to find files and folders on the computer by entering a file name or part of it into the search field. It also has a share tab that contains icons for options such as e-mail, print, fax, or burn an item to disk.
Customizable Display Formats
In addition, the toolbar has a view tab that allows the user to customize the appearance of Explorer by changing the display format for files and folders. The different types of display formats include thumbnail image arrays, icons, lists, and details (including names, sizes, type, date, time, and more).
Redesigned for Windows 10
In Windows 10, File Explorer has been redesigned to make it easier for users to navigate the files on their computers. The redesigned interface includes a new look and feel, with an enhanced user interface that is easy to read. In addition, the explorer has been improved to work more efficiently with Windows 10 and Windows Update.
