Training the workforce

The majority of business managers aspire to have an effective workforce that will aid in the achievement of organizational objectives. It will also have a big impact on productivity difficulties, as the firm's output will result in better numbers. On the other side, the business may even stand a possibility of outperforming organizations with undertrained staff in terms of competitive advantage. Increased adherence to the company's regulations will result from a workforce that has received appropriate training. But if the work is done correctly, the employees in the company become productive, leading to the achievement of revenue and profits as the business saw a decline in waste, inefficiency, and costs. However, the process of creating this program is not easy as the management will have to follow specific steps to attain its success. The paper will demonstrate the purpose of employee training and highlight the benefits to both the organization and the workers.

Purpose of Employee Training

According to Bose (2013), employee training has a crucial purpose of improving effectiveness and productivity in a firm. Workers need to receive efficient training to do their jobs well. Similarly, the practice will bring a change in the workers’ behaviors which is considered as a positive change in skill, knowledge, and attitude. The ongoing support training that is offered to the employees is an essential factor to keep changes to the working and the corporate environment giving the employee responsibility to learn. Secondly, the training will create an essence of relevance in the institution. The aspect of internal training in any company will customize the learning to accurately meet the business’s needs adapting some ideologies and omitting the unnecessary inputs for the job (Cors, 2014). Additionally, it will include the aspect of employee focus made clear to the organization goals and strategies.

On the other hand, the purpose of the training is to increase motivation, retention, and reduce certain operational costs in the firm. An aspect of motivating an employee will generate the need to be loyal to the employer and also increase the input levels in the company. According to DeCenzo, Robbins, & Verhulst (2015), training an employee as a reward is a motivating factor to his job and also viewed as productive people with limited intentions of leaving the premises for another workstation. Nevertheless, the application of internal training is less expensive to a firm than the use of external training.

Benefits of Employee Training

To Employers

The management team will enjoy a productive workforce that will help in the process of attaining their goals. The employer will also have limited time in monitoring the activities of their workers. A well-trained workforce conducts their duties with limited monitoring and often keep time. Secondly, the employers will often recognize high profits from the activities executed by the firm. It further helps a firm to understand the sectors that need additional attention to offer similar output as other sectors.

The organization will also have limited opportunities of recruiting experts in the firm as the available worker can execute the required activities. Furthermore, the company is saved from miscellaneous activities by hiring people to work in certain departments in the business. Additionally, the employers will have the ability to identify the workers that can offer better services in a given department. The employers will also have no problem in executing the evaluation practices in the company and provision of rewards to the employees. Therefore, there is a better chance of keeping up with the industry change as compared to the firms with inadequately trained employees.

To Employees

Well trained employees will have an opportunity of working in any organization and departments. Similarly, these workers can also solve complicated situation within an organization, thus creating a better working environment for their colleagues. According to interpretation by Carrasco-Hernández (2016), well-trained employees will have an ability to operate machines that use the latest technology. Training to an employee also offers an opportunity to request for a higher pay based on the ability to deliver in an organization. In the long run, they are likely to attain job satisfaction as they will have a better working environment as all workers will have relatively equal abilities with none considered advantaged to others.

Conclusion

In conclusion, any organization will attain its goals by the use of well-trained personnel. The paper demonstrates the purpose of employee training and highlight the benefits to both the organization and the workers. Companies with poorly trained staff will always have hardships in attaining a competitive advantage in the industry. In the long run, they lose their best workers to the companies that offer internal training as a reward to their employees. It is a factor that helps in the aspects of motivation and employee retaining as they will have a better working environment as compared to companies that hardly offer these trainings. To a greater extent, companies with well-trained employees will have more benefits compared to companies with untrained workers.
