The aviation industry has a major problem when it comes to operating costs.
Research has shown that many aeronautical firms in the United States have begun to be concerned with the option they make in areas where they carry out their flight repairs. Their decisions are based on the following considerations: security features, cost of repair and duration of taking this same service on another as compared to the high offer you have on the table. In the aviation sector, I would want us to base this topic of cutting the cost of flight maintenance by picking the option of taking services within developing countries or the developed countries. Companies such Duncan Aviation Inc., A & P Technicians, and IA Aircraft Inspectors (Curran, 2015) are some of the most considered in this field.

Since developing countries are more prone to terror attacks, moving a flight to this country would exposes it to risks of terrorism. Therefore, it would be important to review the risks entitle when taking an aviation repair to a developing country so as save cost. Take the case of the 9/11 flight terrorists, the primary cause of this mess which led to the destruction of property and death of many people was due to insecurity on this flights (Quinlan, 2014). This case is an example of what could happen in case a flight is not well protected during its maintenance. Besides, outsourcing of labor abroad means that part of the crew such as servicing engineers, welding experts, and other assistants within a country would be lost to other people. This will affect their income as well as the economy of the country. Investors within the aviation section should not only consider ways to cut cost but also they should consider the impacts this industry contributes towards the growth of an economy and creation of employment. It’s not a vice to create a working relationship with the developing countries and forget to contribute to revenue growth of once country.

Poor servicing within the developed countries is a fear to many. It is evident that a developed country has low development within technology used in handling flights. This means that under servicing is a significant concern. This issue is of concern since it can result to malfunctioning or even the plane crashing. Therefore, it is okay when an Airbus company decide to offer line maintenance services to developing countries instead of giving them the heavy maintenance servicing role. Since “prevention is better than cure”, it would be advisable for the owner to utilize the services of companies with advanced technologies. It should be noted that many of the major plane crashes that have ever happened was as a result of poor flight engineering and maintenance. If a flight is not well scanned which is the case in developing countries, this will result to failure in its engines or other parts of the plane and in the long run crash.

Another reason to consider concerning outsourcing is failure in data transmission within the plane. It is common for outsourced experts to scan through avionics and unearth trade secrets (Damacoc, 2017). These secrets have the basis of reducing revenue generated in case it falls to the wrong audience. When considering looking for flight maintenance from third world companies, it imports for airline companies to understand what information is accessible to their service providers. Do you see it fit to lose your business reputation due to information falling into the wrong hands only because you wanted cheaper services?

Lastly, the 9/11 terror attack should be a lesson to teach us on the possible tragedies that are likely to face many flight companies when it comes to who to trust with maintaining your flight (Thenent, 2014). They should only trust people they have their records concerning maintenance and servicing of flights. They would rather pay more and get quality services than hire experts who know nothing about but are cheap. In my view, it is advisable to entrust a wealthy countryman to do my job rather than a stranger despite the service fee.

To conclude, though outsourcing of workforce for maintenance of aviation is cheap, it’s crucial for us all to consider how this would cost a company and even a country at large if things go wrong. It’s okay to go for cheap, but it’s also important to consider safety. According to me nurturing of local talent and promoting your country experts is essential and safer for the aviation sector. If I was to be asked I would request every company within aviation to consider using the countries human resources and by this avoid a lot of complications.
