Government Mistrust and Perspectives on Race and Ethnicity

There have recently been a couple of questions posed by government mistrust in the United States. The definition of race and nationality is prominent in all of these claims. When it comes to a country's political, fiscal, and cultural dynamism, perspectives on race and ethnicity are critical (Iceland, 2017).

The Impact on Arab and Muslim Americans

The war on terrorism, for example, has turned Arab and Muslim Americans into enemies of their own country. They live in dread and panic as a result of the prevalence of terrorist attacks. As a result, the government should enforce policies that appeal to the country's numerous ethnic and racial communities. Many people suffer long-term consequences due to their race or ethnicity, but the problem can be solved through racial and ethnic equality, understanding the plight of immigrants in the country and lastly not associating a particular ethnic group or race with terrorism.

Struggles of Arab and Muslim Americans

Arab and Muslim Americans have found it difficult to survive, especially when there is a war on terrorism. For instance, in the wake of 9/11 attacks, they were forced to balance between their dual identities of being American while at the same time guarding themselves as prime suspects. During 9/11 attack, most people viewed Arab and Muslim Americans as enemies (Iceland, 2017).

The Racial Issues Raised by Barack Obama's Presidency

The election of Barrack Obama as the first black president in the history of America also raised many racial issues. His campaign and eventual victory shaped the racial and ethical landscape of America society. Many racial problems were brought to the surface, and the result was more divisions across ethnic and racial lines. Questions were raised on the background of Obama, who was his father, and whether he had what it takes to be an American. Some even went ahead to file court petitions against him on the ground that he was not eligible to be a president. All these happened due to his African origin.

The Impact of Immigration on Racial and Ethnic Inequalities

Immigrants from Mexico and Central America brought conflict whether their presence was good or bad for the country. Referring to Light and Iceland (2016), immigration has become a fundamental factor where many forms of racial or ethnic inequalities and controversy are now based. Immigrants usually come in search of cheap labor in America. This leads to economic competition, and the result is racial and ethical hostility (Light & Iceland, 2016).

Embracing Ethical Equality for Political, Economic, and Cultural Balance

Adoption of ethical equality will bring political, economic, and cultural balance within the American society (Light & Iceland, 2016). Embracement of racial and ethical diversity in different political posts brings a sense of consideration. For instance, when Obama was elected, black Americans felt represented. Equality also brings the equal distribution of resources to the Americans and Non-Americans.

Addressing Discrimination and Hostilities

America should abolish the culture of associating Arabs and Muslim Americans with terrorism; associating them with terrorism only piles more adverse effects to their already miserable situations. There should be no discrimination when it comes to accepting immigrants in the country. Muslims should not be discriminated. Measures to curb racial and ethical hostility in the workplace to be adopted: This may include forming a foundation to deal with anti-migrants, anti-minority tensions, and resentments. Anybody found guilty of racial or ethical hostility to be charged.

Creating Opportunity and Dealing with the Future

America is a home for many refugees and immigrants. The government should, therefore, set aside particular jobs for immigrants to avoid tension and discrimination in the workplace. After all, there also contribute towards the national income of the country. Strategies should be adopted to deal with the war on terrorism, immigration, and globalization on the economy of America. It is said that with globalization, White will cease to be the majority of the American population many years to come. Race and ethnicity should, therefore, be dealt with carefully since it has an impact on future generations.
