The dynamics of problems in an organization

A major portion of both experienced, semi-skilled, and non-skilled people have a specific form of job thanks in large part to the development of organizations. A group of two or more people working together with the aim of reaching a predetermined goal is referred to as an institution. As a result, in terms of day-to-day operations, the achievement of an organization's goals depends greatly on the effort put forth by those at various levels of the management hierarchy of an institution. Organization dynamics, on the other hand, relates to how individuals work together in an organization to quickly and effectively achieve the set goals and objectives swiftly and efficiently. As a result, an organization's success is highly dependent on the dynamics present in a firm (Heathfield, 2016). In addition, the success of the operations carried out in an organization is highly dependent on the employee roles outlined and successfully conducted, the interpersonal relations available as well as the group dynamics. Consequently, the reaction of the three aspects plays a significant role in highlighting the possibility of success or failure in attaining different goals. Although different organizations have various dynamics that pose a challenge to achieving the goals, in the city of Detroit job promotions play a significant role in determining the level of operation as well as the success of a firm.

Promotion refers to the advancement concerning the vertical hierarchy in organizations.

As a result, development is responsible for ensuring the people in a group are in a position to be trusted with new privileges and duties as far as the firm's activities are concerned. Hence, promotion in a workplace and the city of Detroit to be precise plays a significant role in ensuring the employees have new job titles as well as functions (Heathfield, 2016). Therefore, promotion is an integral tool for boosting an employee's morale both intrinsically and extrinsically in a workplace as they feel obligated and trusted with the firms to undertake more demanding tasks. As a result, promotion ensures an individual feels he or she is part and parcel of an organization (Davis, 2017). Moreover, it is vital in ensuring a person is in a position to offer more to the firm regarding both mental and physical skills to enable attainment of the set goals and objectives.

Awarding promotions to external employees

Promotional dilemmas are a problem not only to the employees as well as the employers in an organization with regards to providing the promotional positions either internally or outside the institutions (Heathfield, 2016). Although the employees may have skills and relevant experience, the employers may opt to seek for new employees from outside the organizations to fill the positions that would instead have been meant for promoting the hardworking yet dedicated employees in the agencies.

The prospect of awarding the positions that merit job promotions of the internal employees to the outsiders has served as a basis for creating rifts and degrading the morale of the employees in the city of Detroit. In the event where the employers have advertised a job deemed to offer promotional opportunities for the outsiders to apply for, the employees feel despised and neglected. The neglection and despise feeling evident in the employees is attributable to the fact that the employers fail to trust them with more roles and duties. Moreover, it broods a feeling that the management is not concerned with the efforts the employees assert in their day to day activities in their respective organizations in the city of Detroit (Heathfield, 2016). As a result, the failure to honor the employees with the promotion opportunities plays a significant role in derailing their work ethics as far as the day to day activities are concerned. Similarly, awarding the promotional position to outsiders in the city of Detroit makes the employees feel as if their growth in the organizations is put at risk as they are bound to stagnate in their professions for a considerable period of time. As a result, it awakens the spirit for searching for job opportunities in other organizations out of the state that will guarantee their growth concerns.

Awarding opportunities to internal employees wrongly

Awarding promotional opportunities to the domestic employees in an organization plays an integral role in ensuring their motivation levels are elevated. As a result, it provides the employees are in the position to work excessively hard since they feel entrusted with the obligation of spurring the organizations to greater heights as far as productivity is concerned. However, in the event where there are a group of employees who are qualified for a given position in a relatively similar manner it serves as a basis for harboring disharmony within an organization in the event the individual was chosen is deemed less qualified by the other employees (Heathfield, 2016). For instance, awarding an employee who has professional qualifications for a given job instead of the most experienced individual has led to continuous disharmony among the employees in the city of Detroit. As part of the organizational dynamics experienced in the workplace, awarding the wrong employees promotion have an impact on the productivity levels of the organizations. Moreover, it promotes parallelism among the workers as well as their roles and the expectations. As a result, the workers feel their worth is compromised as far as productivity and capabilities. As a result, the employees seek for alternative organizations either in the city of Detroit or the neighboring states.

Lack of interest in promotion opportunities

Some of the employees having a proven record of high productivity in organizations have little or no interest in promotion opportunities. As a result, when presented with such opportunities the employees shy away from them creating a vacuum or leading to having a less competent employee filling up the positions. Although the choices may be filled, the employee charged with the new responsibilities may struggle to deliver as they may lack the required expertise to disseminate the services with ease (Heathfield, 2016). Although promotion opportunities ensure the employees in the city of Detroit have an option to increase their pay, in the event where some of the employees choose not to honor the privileges accorded to them it does more harm than help to the organizations. As a result, the choice to turn down promotion opportunities interfere with the organizational dynamics. Since promotion is a powerful tool concerning communication in a group, in the event where an individual turns down a promotion opportunity it serves as a basis for highlighting the existence of disharmony in the agencies in the city of Detroit.

The organizational structures available in the city of Detroit

The existence of complex corporate structures in the city of Detroit has played a significant role in creating disharmony among the employees in the organizations. Some of the agencies have embraced management structures that do not favor adequate strategies for awarding promotion among the employees. For instance, the adoption of the matrix structures plays a significant role in limiting the ability for the management to identify the employees that warrant a promotional opportunity (Davis, 2017). Moreover, the complex nature of the structure as far as duties outlined for the employees to undertake are concerned may play a significant role in the level of turning down such offers by the employees. The complexity of some of the organization as far as the management and promotion opportunities are concerned to underline the increasing urge by employees to seek employment in firms that are likely to guarantee their growth in the job professions. For instance, the matrix form of organization is viewed by a majority of the people as a structure that inhibits growth prospects as far as promotion to another level in the management hierarchy is concerned (Davis, 2017).

In conclusion

Promotion as a form of organizational dynamics plays a significant role in determining the level of successfully achieving the goals and objectives set in a given firm. Advancement in a workplace is vital in elevating the spirit of the employees as they are charged with extra duties about the day to day activities of the organizations in the city of Detroit. Whereas several factors impact negatively on the promotion activities of a firm in the city of Detroit, the prospect of awarding outside people at the expense of the internal employees play a vital role in ensuring the existence of the dynamic organizational problem concerning promotion. Moreover, granting the opportunities to the employee who less deserves them as well as the corporate structures deployed play a significant role in creating disharmony concerning the organizational dynamics.
