The Coalition to Stop Gun Violence

The Coalition to Stop Gun Violence is the group that would help with the problem of gun violence in America. This organization's major goal is to secure an end to gun violence through research, effective policy lobbying, and tactical action. The coalition is made up of 47 national organizations that collaborate to lessen gun violence in the United States. The group will contribute to fostering a gun safety culture in America. Insisting on mandatory training, licensing, and safe and secure weapons storage are all examples of this (Bloomberg, 2013). The group will work to make sure that training is ongoing. This means that the organization will help in ensuring that training is not a onetime affair. This means that the organization will help in ensuring that gun owners regularly refresh their training and renews their permits according to the requirements.
Additionally, the organization will help in educating the general public that gun violence is a critical but preventable public health problem. This means that there is a need to master the political will to address the problem.
The methodology we are proposing is to tighten restrictions on gun sales. This means closing all loopholes that allow people with criminal records as well as mental health conditions to access firearms. No guns should be sold through the internet or by private individuals. This is so because none of the avenues is a licensed gun seller.
The second methodology is to reduce the lethality of guns. This means deriving other ways of making guns less dangerous to store. For instance, we can use the "smart gun" technology which only recognizes the fingerprint of the owner. The main advantage of this is that the gun cannot be stolen or accidentally fired by a child or a stranger (Bloomberg, 2013).
One of the major theories explaining Gun violence in America is social interaction. Different research works have indicated that the people we know and spend time with have more influence on our risk of becoming gun homicide victims as compared to age, race as well as gang affiliation.
