There must be a running schedule; running should also be a consistent practice so that the muscles can get used to the body pattern (Kenney et al., 2015).

Running is the best exercise for the aged, but it is also associated with some injuries. Most of the injuries realized by runners are associated with excessive running. The most rampant running injuries for aged runners include back pain, hamstring injury, heel pain, stress fracture and shin splints. These injuries are treated in various ways. The standard treatment is physical therapy (Martins et al., 2015). The treatment can be used to reduce back pain, hamstring injury, and shin splints. Getting older comes with many advantages like more wisdom, a maturity of mind, life experience and grace, but also it can carry some challenges. Memory loss can be another significant challenge. Threatening diseases like heart failure, cancer and diabetes become rampant with aging. Some of the benefits of running exercises to the seniors include improved stability and body balance. It strengthens the body muscles hence improving body balance; this in return reduces the falls risks. The second importance of exercise is the improvement of joint health, running, for instance, makes the joints healthy. Other importance of exercise to the seniors include, reduces high blood pressure, improved respiration, and reduction of anxiety (Martins et al., 2015).

How exercises changes the bone tissues

Exercises are critical regarding the bone building. The aged are susceptible to bone malfunctions because as one age, the bones become weak. However, exercises make the bones and body tissues to revive the strength back. Exercises increase muscle density hence reducing the cases of bone fractures (Ngandu et al., 2015). As the muscles pull together during the exercises, they promote bone growth. Even the doctors recommend body exercises to cure the flesh and bone ailments. Body exercises makes the bones flexible, this condition in support of the muscles allows posture and movement, hence reducing bone fragility (Ngandu et al., 2015). Exercises also, improve the well-being of bones by intensifying the muscles pulls around the bones

Doctors have realized that the aged have bones which are very fragile. In the process of treating the bones of the aged who do exercises and the ones who do not, the doctors realized an enormous difference. The individuals who perform regular exercises had stronger bones, which are well balanced. The bones are well structures and can support the weight of those individuals well; they are resistant to bone fractures (Ngandu et al., 2015).
