Abraham's Religion

Abraham's religion is seen as a strong piece of religious work for Christians. Abraham's confidence was first manifested when he responded to a message from an unseen God late at night, telling him to look up at the heavens and count the number of stars he could see. God told him that, much as he couldn't count the number of stars in the sky, he wouldn't be able to count the number of descendants He would send him. Abraham never asked God about the first manifestation, despite the fact that he had no child and Sarah, his wife, was too old to bear a child. He was then asked by God to leave his well settled and established home to an unknown place which God was to show him. At this first encounter, Christians get encouraged to have such similar faith when they are pressured to abandon Christianity, and they select such a case in the life of Abraham that has a similar situation that they may have at one moment. Just like the way Abraham had been called out of Mesopotamia, they also had been called as Christians out of Judaism toward a promise they could not see, and they obeyed and went- to become Christians.

By Faith, Abraham Settled in the Promised Land

By faith, Abraham made his new home in the Promised Land as a stranger in a foreign country (Prill) and so did Isaac and Jacob who were heirs with him of the Promised Land. Therefore so does the Christians base their faith that no matter how strange they are of the new faith (Christianity) that even has no ancestral father in the Old Testament? Basing their faith in Abraham's settling in the strange country and making a home there, so do they believe that settling as Christians from Judaism or paganism or another form of religion. Any strange feeling is usual just like how Abraham felt being in a new land which is strange. Christians also should not view this world as a permanent home because God has a better home for them. The promise of God to Abraham was fulfilled when Sarah gave birth to Isaac, and Isaac had a son-Jacob who had twelve sons who are the entire forefathers of Christians-who are as numerous as the stars in the heaven. Christians base their faith on this and that all of them God has a way of manifesting his promises.

Hinduism Sacred Work

On Hinduism, Vedas is the oldest sacred text in authority that most Hindus respect and which generalizes the Hindu beliefs (Kumar 120). The first sacred writings of Hinduism are primarily concerned with the ritual sacrifices associated with the numerous gods who represents the forces of nature. The Vedas focuses on the devotion to God preserved as Brahman, Shiva, Vishnu, Shakti and many more several gods. The sacred texts of Hinduism fall into one of two categories: fruit or the smruti which means the heard and the remembered respectively. The sruti scriptures are considered divinely inspired and fully authoritative for practice and believe while smruti are the products of the minds of the great sages.

The religion of the older sruti texts bears little resemblance to the modern Hinduism, but the smruti texts often carry almost as much authority as the sruti. However, the sruti are held in very hight regard, and portions are still memorized for the religious advantage. Nevertheless, the only text regarded as the sruti are the Vedas which in both ancient sacrificial formulas and more philosophical. Another case is the smrti texts which help to explain sruti and make them meaningful to the general population, and despite their lesser authority, they are the most recent and the most beloved by the religion population, and the most representative of actual Hindu beliefs and practices.

Other sacred texts include the Sutras which reflect Mahayana concepts and are used more often by Mahayana Buddhist and Darshanad that consist of varying attempts to develop and systematize the Vedas. And the most of the sacred scriptures are the Vedas which means Book of knowledge which is a collection written in Sanskrit. They are regarded as the absolute authority for religious knowledge and a text of Hindu orthodoxy.

Similarities between Christianity and Hinduism Sacred Works

A piece of work is referred to as a sacred text if it is venerated for the worship of a deity or anything regarded as sacred by a religious group. It is also referred to as a religious text, religious writing or a sacred writing. In both the Christianity and Hinduism sacred texts, they both base their faith upon a story of human being who is just like them. Even though the texts may differ in faith or beliefs, the fact is that it's a supreme being which manifests itself to a human being of the same nature or standard as that of the living person. And therefore, there is a way in which the person can be connected to a supreme being just as the sacred text narrates.

In both the Christianity and Hinduism, there is a reward or benefit in believing or following what the scripture dictates. The human beings try to relate themselves with those that had a direct interaction so as to become like them. Both cases believe that there is a merit associated with them if they resemble in faith or action that of the sacred work. This means that the being in the sacred being is like a mirror which they ought to reflect themselves as an image. Therefore, in both cases, the faith or faiths are like a mirror, and the human being whom it worked in is the object and therefore the today living being needs to be the image reflected by the object. Today's people in both cases are images which strive to be similar to the object reflecting in the same given mirror.

Finally, in both cases, there is a divine being working upon human beings which seem to be hidden from the human eye or nature at present. It is this divine being that has a reward for those who try to resemble that being or beings that the divine being of human nature. People cannot reveal or enjoy the benefits of the sacred word while still in this life but instead, they shall die first then the benefits will appear. Also in both cases, the human beings who heed to the sacred word requirements are the direct beneficiaries of the work.
