The Impact of Past and Present Revolutions
Over the years, the world has seen several revolutions that were not predicted in advance and were only realized after they occurred. The majority of the courses were intended to make it better for all by inventing new ways to exploit the natural environment to cause it more human-friendly. Technological advances have made it easier for people to communicate worldwide, while economic revolutions have improved most people's living standards.
As shown by past and present revolutions, human consciousness has been improving, and the 21st-century citizen is incomparable to the people who caved houses years ago, as Dr. Harari suggests. The effects of the on society should be distinguished from the impact of technological revolution on humanity to have a clear view of the humankind in the future. The consciousness of humankind after a century or two will be more developed to a higher level that will promote humanity (Carnegie, 2017).
The Technological Revolution and Economic Products
Dr. Harari argues that the technological revolution will influence the type of economic products produced by humans. Products such as our bodies, brains, and minds will be part of the revolution of technology and therefore will contribute less to humans taking control of their inside world. Vaccines in the current world, for example, help healthy humans to upgrade their health but does not shift the use of medicine from healing the sick. Human revolution is supposed to originate from the internal ecological systems as opposed to technology to control human thoughts. Dr. Harari claims that organic compounds that form the human bodies, through intelligent design, will be replaced by inorganic compounds making humans immortal. The manufacturing of immortal humans is part of the future of technological revolutions of robots. The human revolution will continue to be based on natural selection where the strong humans will survive and possibly work in partnership with the intellectually designed human robots to promote human kindness (Carnegie, 2017).
Dangers and Imbalances of the Human Revolution
The revolution on humanity will be accompanied by dangers of a new inequality gap and imbalances of internal human ecosystem according to Dr. Harari. For the inequality gap to exist, it means that most humans will not have revolutionized and the manufactured humans will lack human kindness which is key to the survival of humanity. The revolution explained in the speech show increased dependence on programmed machines and human expertise by the sapiens as opposed to the evolution of upgraded humans. The imbalances predicted are only possible if the existing humans were to be used as the raw materials to manufacture the new immortal humans. Algorithms act as tools to make work easier to humans and hold no authority to rule people. Humans will still hold the power of choice, and it will be upon each to obey or refuse to obey the intellectually designed algorithms. Humanity might remain constant as the technological revolution takes place in years to come.
The Future of Humankind
The economic value of humans will still hold for centuries to come since normal humans will manufacture the new humans pictured by Dr. Harari. Manufacturing human robots will be an upgrade of technological revolution and will have less impact on the internal human ecosystem. The future of humankind should be viewed as an era of humans who are highly dependent on machines and programs. Natural selection will ensure that during that era, humans are highly reinvented to use technological revolution to their benefit.
