Research Questions about sports coaches

The three peer-reviewed research publications for successful college football coaching are examined in this work. Predicting Athletic Success: Factors Contributing to the Success of NCAA Division I AA Collegiate Football Players is the title of the first article used in this review. Martin Spieler, Daniel R. Czech, A. Barry Joyner, and Barry Munkasy of Georgia Southern University wrote this article. Ithaca College students J. Long and Noah Gentner In 2007, the piece was printed in the Online Journal of Sports Psychology. The second article that was used for this review is titled ""Time to Go? Head Coach Quits and Dismissals in Professional Football"" the article was authored by Alex Bryson, Babatunde Buraimo, Rob Simmons. The third article is titled "The Secondary School Football Coach's Relationship with the Athletic Trainer and Perspectives on Exertional Heat Stroke." William et al. authored this article. For success in any sport and more specifically the American football, an extension to leadership and coaching skills are required. In the competitive field of a sport like American football, many scholars want to determine the relationship between coaching and emerging the top in performance.

The following study questions sparked the research that was done in these three papers:

To find out what are the successful coaching approaches in the current world of football.

To discuss what are the current trends in football management that could help the college football teams to grow.

To determine what is useful coaching.

What are the techniques that are used in recruiting football managers who can make a football team successful?

How the football coaches can work with other sports coaches to improve the sport?

Several theories are used in these articles to determine the best ways to develop productive and successful coaching techniques in football teams that include college American football clubs that participate in the NCAA division. The approaches that these researchers have used point out several issues that determine the success of a coach, the methods include; proper recruitment of qualified coaching staff and the leadership skills and techniques that these coaches use. They also discuss how this will move down to recruitment of players and development of structures within the team. For instance, William et al., in the article they have discussed a theory in which emergency care can be assured by having a collaboration between the athletics coach and football coach in a secondary school (William et al., 2014). Their theory holds that a partnership between these coaches in a bid to ensure that there is a practice of safe sporting will help in developing the team and ensuring that team has the morale to work hard and give there all to the sport as they are assured of their safety. Bryson et al., 12, in the article use the theory of empirical evidence; they discuss how the contracts of the coaches that are mostly signed during recruitment are likely to affect the performance of the coach's football team (Bryson et al., 13). Long et al., in their article discuss ways in which the American football coaches select or recruit their players. The things that they look at to ensure that their players make the team successful in the NCAA division 1. Effective coaching can be studied and learned by other coaches. Many reviews have been done by scholar, sports scientists and psychologist with the aim of improving the sporting industry at large. The behavior of performance can be directly linked to coaching skills. This is so for an elite coaching in the competitive football arena. An expert coach plays a vital role in team building this is through the strategies that he or she lays for the coaching process. Team building encompasses the element and activities, organization, environment, coach role and the relationship between the team and cohesion performance (Wang 431). The purpose of a coach in football cannot be overlooked, a dully qualified coach with excellent skills needs to be selected. The sports curriculum also plays a significant role according to the theories discussed in the articles. The theories that were discussed in the articles can help as the basis in which future research questions can be formed. For instance, finding out how sports curriculum will affect the way a football team is managed will lead to a study on how the coaching curriculum should be developed. It should be established in a way that aims at making a strong team that will achieve positive results. Results and finding

Based on the content of the research, the categories that describe efficiently coaching are leadership, discipline and a positive team environment, teaching fundamental principles, challenging of coaching and competing with strong opponents. Collaborations between coaches will ensure that the players of the teams give there all in the competitions, this will help in ensuring that the performance of the teams is improved (William et al., 2014). Another important thing that has a significant impact on the performance of the teams in the NCAA division 1 is the coach's team players selection. The coaches need to engage the stakeholders properly so that they can ensure that they select teams that are competent and that can perform well (Martin et al., 2007). It also shows that the role of a coach in a football team is necessary and cannot be overlooked. It is prudent for a college to recruit a competent coach who will help them in developing a team that will record positive results.Sample Population

The researchers of these articles selected their sample populations that ensured that the whole population was represented. The reports use organizations and people who have been involved in the football coaching and sports industry for some time and have an experience on how the outcomes of the team can be influenced by the coach's leadership and management styles. It all starts with the process of recruiting a football coach who can lead the team well. The sample population is similar to my site because it uses a sample population that is representative of all the community. In the studies, people who took part included the players, coaches and college staff. Quotes

In Bryson’ s article the illuminating quote was “Three of the time-invariant variables capture the team’s performance in the previous season, namely whether the team was promoted, whether they were relegated, and their rank position." This was illuminating as it points out the performance indicators of coaches. In Long et al. articles "Although research has suggested that psychological factors may play an important role in athletic development, psychology alone does not determine the collegiate success of a football player." This shows the factors that affect an athlete's performance. In the article by William et al., the most illuminating direct quote was "‘I feel prepared because I have received training in emergency care." This was a quote from a coach who was giving his opinion; the quote is illuminating because of the way it shows how the training makes one feel.
