Race, Class and gender inequality

Inequality in race, class, and gender can be seen in nearly every part of the world. Class inequality refers to the separation of people depending on their socioeconomic classes, while racial inequality refers to the segregation of people based on their originality/skin color (Feagin 65). Finally, gender bias refers to discrimination against individuals depending on their gender; male or female. The primary goal of this article is to describe how wealthy white men have dominated American politics and government after recent civil rights advances.
When it comes to gender, color, and gender inequality, the United States of America has a long history. This history of inequality has played a big role when it comes to shaping the development of the Country; its current Government and Policies. Racism has been a great force to deal with in the U.S. This inequality has led to the loss of lives; destruction of property and destabilization of the U.S Economy (Feagin 23). At least every Civilization in the World has faced some form of inequality. Despite the fact that the U.S founded an ideal that described all men to be equal, this forms of inequality have greatly affected the U.S Economy at a great extent especially in the 1960s

SOCIAL INEQUALITY

The first way through which this inequalities have Shaped the development the Country is the fact that the U.S is divided into different regions based on social class. Some of the regions belong to those who are extremely rich; a good example is Beverly Hills and California while other parts belong to the middle and low class people (Feagin 37). Based on this illustration, Social inequality has affected the development of different towns/regions. This can be proved by the fact that areas that have people from a high social classes are well planned and developed while those that have people from low social classes are less developed and planned (Feagin 42). This has in turn shaped the development and division of the Country.

In reference to Social inequality; Wealthy white men have come to dominate the American Politics and Government in a significant way. This class of people are very influential to the point that they determine the outcomes in most of the elections (Feagin 85). A good example is that most of the Wealthy white men are behind the process of Controlling the Government in the sense that they finance most of their preferred candidates. In reference to this scenario; the Wealthy White men in America are responsible for controlling the Government in the sense that they push for the nomination and election of officials (Feagin 59). Most of this officials are puppets to the wealthy men.

This makes the wealthy white men to control and dominate the Government. This Class of people are also responsible for giving loans to the Government; this makes it easier for them to control Government activities (Feagin 69). Lastly Social inequality has affected the growth of the U.S in the sense that the Rich are continuing to be rich while the poor are becoming much poorer. This has affected the development of the U.S greatly. In order for a Country to develop; all Citizens ought to be treated in fair manner.

The white men have also affected the development of the Country since they manage most of the Country’s resources and funds. Just like any other Country; Employment is a big problem (Feagin 74). Most of the employment opportunities are given out through connections. In the end this affects the development of the Country since the poor continue being poorer while the rich continue gaining more wealth in the society.

RACISM

Despite the fact that the U.S policies and Constitution are against Racism; it is evident that racism still occurs in several parts of the Country. In order for a Country to develop; there needs to be unity among all people in the Society. People have to overcome the boundaries that separate them. Most of the third World Countries have lagged in development because they lack unity and cooperation (Feagin 79). When we look at the U.S; the white men have substantially propelled racism in a great way. This has affected development in several parts of the Country. Some of the ways through which the Rich White men have affected/contributed to racism and the development of the U.S are by controlling/making policies that favor one race.

As discussed earlier; most of the wealth white men are very powerful. Some of them control/manipulate the Government. This enables them to make/control most of the Government’s policies and regulations (Feagin 84). Despite the fact that the U.S Constitution is not biased on one’s race and ethnicity, it is evident that some of the policies favor the white group of people. This act has caused a lot of tension, strikes and unrest. Most of this strikes are very chaotic; they end up destroying what has taken years to build. This affects the rate and measure of development. A good example of such a movement that caused tension, strikes and destruction of property is the ‘Black lives matter’ movement.

The Wealthy white men have also come to control the American Politics and Government since most of them have connections that are significant to people in the American Government. Over 65% of the Government is formed by officials who are of white decency. Racism comes when we see that a majority of the Government ideologies and policies are centered towards the benefit of the White group of people (Feagin 52). The first black president of the U.S was elected recently after more than 150 years of freedom from the British.

Before his election; a large number of the rich white men were against his election as well as his re- election. The main reason was because they wanted to protect their political and financial interest; they were also against the fact that Barrack Obama was a black person. This means that they were racists (Feagin 70). Despite the recent gains in the civil rights; the U.S economy is still dominated by the rich men because the Government lacks policies and regulations that can be used to monitor their activities. Most of the civil rights do not defend the black man from being discriminated; they only protect him from normal/noticeable acts of discrimination.

GENDER INEQUALITY

Just like Racism, gender inequality exists in every Country today. The American Constitution is one of the most flexible and efficient in the World today; Women have played a vital role in the development of the Country (Feagin 80). Their contribution to growth and development is very substantial/significant. Over the past years the wealth white rich men have dominated the U.S in almost every aspect. Despite the fact that there are policies that monitor gender inequality incidences; it is safe to say the fact that Women have been underestimated. A good example that can be used to explain is that a majority of the Political members in the U.S Government are males.

Even though women contributed significantly to the development of the U.S; it is obvious that they would have made much more contributions if they were well represented. Most of the white rich men are people who do not have a sense of gender balance. They believe that Women cannot protect their own interests (Political and financial) once they are in power; this is the main reason why most of the rich white men do not have a sense of political balance. According to Christine Barbour; most of the rich white have a belief that Women are less superior and are meant to be controlled. In reference to the history of the U.S; the Country’s top post has never been assigned to a lady/woman. Most of the Country’s strong posts are rarely assigned to them for the purposes known to the rich men better.

Gender inequality is something that is hard to get rid of. Despite the fact that the U.S constitution represents people from both genders in a fair manner; certain amendments have to be made in order to ensure that Women are not discriminated or biased (Feagin 25). The Government ought to be independent in making its own decisions; it ought not to experience political pressure from any groups of people. This pressure is what is responsible for the domination of the rich white men into American Politics and Government thereby causing racism, Gender and social inequality.
