In this article, I would clarify how my own understanding of theology has evolved over the course of the course. Second, I’m going to explore how I’ve been able to practice the principles I’ve learned from this course in my own personal life. Last but not least, I’m going to explore how I intend to pass on the information I’ve learned in this course to others within my circle of influence.
Before taking this exam, I knew that theology would be a more in-depth study of the Scriptures. After taking this course, I have learned that there are many different types of theology, not just biblical, and that each form focuses on a different aspect of God’s revelation. Theology gives us a better understand of scripture and a closer look at what Christian should do to establish a closer relationship to God.
My view of theology has changed considerably. After studying over the past weeks, I no longer feel that a theologian is a scholarly person wearing a very old sweater or blazer with patches and puffing on a pipe. I have now learned that anyone who thinks about God and studies God’s word and believes is invested in theology. The readings that we have been instructed weekly to read have caused me to spend time thinking of how it pertains to my life and the lives of those I care for. This course has given me encouragement when I was feeling low and convicted me when I was not acting God like.
Applying the Principles from the Course
To practice the principles from the course, I can read God’s word more and do my best to live my life according to His words. How I treat others reflects how God would want us to treat others. The Bible tells us “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you” (Ephesians 4:32). For me in the past, it has been not an easy task to forgive others, however, as I have grown closer in my relationship with God; I know that is not what He wants from me nor what He expects of me. Practicing the principles learned from this course will be a life-long process of growing and maturing spiritually in my relationship with God. It gives me joy knowing that salvation is free and it is there for taking, all we must do is believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins. It reminds me that I must continuously thank God for everything in my life.
Passing the Information from the Course
My friends and I have often sat down over coffee and discussed some of my lessons and way of living. Therefore, I believe I have a strong circle of influence regarding our biblical beliefs, and any information passed along will be well received if it is not already applied in their life already. I will remind my friends that all we should be using our spiritual gifts to help and spread God’s gospel to others. That for us, to truly be with in God, we should be selfless.
Removing all the energy vampires and negativity also acts as an efficient way of passing information. Am entirely responsible of choosing who I spend time with, provide inspiration or energy. Therefore, maintaining a positive energy increases my circle of influence.
Focusing on my habits and of those that wish to emulate me will be an effective way of passing on the information. People wishing to emulate my level of success should take mental notes on my way of life. I should, therefore, accumulate strategies and methodologies of rightful living and incorporate them into my lifestyle.
