The Requirements of a Thesis Paper
A thesis paper requires two things: the discovery of a worthwhile topic or issue that has not previously been studied, and a solution to the problem posed. A thesis paper is examined to prove its originality and significant contribution to knowledge. Some of the things analyzed in the thesis include the following questions:
Analyzing a Thesis Paper
- What's the research question?
- Is the problem real?
- Is the question well answered?
- Does it adequately contribute to knowledge?
The thesis should have a clear statement indicating the question to be answered, and proof of originality in contribution to knowledge. The question should not have been previously answered. It should also be worth responding.
The Skeleton of the Thesis
The skeleton of the thesis is critical. The introduction part of the argument shows what the thesis is all about and briefly summarizes the question. Background information section is optional. It provides the reader with background information on the thesis question. Review of state of the art is the part where the author presents his/her ideas in sections. In the problem statement section, is where the problem case report is presented. It is in this section that justifies the questions previously unanswered.
The Describing Body Section
The describing body section is where the problem is solved. In this part of the thesis, it is mainly free-form.
The Conclusion
In the conclusion section, three things are covered. The first is the most important conclusion of the paper. The second is a summary of contributions, and the last is future research.
The conclusion is not an abstract of the journal but short statements of the overall inferences made in the overall thesis research. The findings made should be directly related to the paper.
