Prior to this self-assessment
I was unaware of my learning style. Similar to the findings of previous exams, I discovered that my learning style is visual, which is useful information for me as a student. Because my mind builds an image of what I see, I now understand why it is simpler for me to remember notes that are accompanied by graphics, diagrams, and charts than plain texts (Spanella, 2017). Consequently, understanding my learning style is critical for improving the process of concurrently listening and taking notes, as well as my academic success. As a visual learner, I am sure I can remember and understand well those lectures that are accompanied by images. In addition, I will embrace the aspect of using charts and diagrams in order to contemplate ideas and concepts that are in the notes. Also, visual learning makes students perfect in grammar, and this means that I will not be deducted points from my lecturers for presenting assignments and projects that have spelling mistakes (Clark & Lyons, 2011). This knowledge will help me to study better.
Moreover, being a visual learner
will facilitate me to adhere to instructions more carefully, and this will add value to my academic achievement, especially when dealing with examination protocols. If I manage to get the main ideas from the various presentations that made by my tutors and fellow course mates during the lecture, I will remember them better. Consequently, this will enable me to attain higher academic heights.
In conclusion, acknowledging myself as a visual learner
is a useful information I can use during my studying. Having known that visual style of learning is part of me, I will manage to perform much better in the college.
