My drawing

Introduction

My drawing is a creative representation of a clock and a human face combined. The drawing uses both the ground technique and the outline technique in its finished form.

Charcoal Shadows and Contour Lines

The artwork uses dark charcoal hues for the shadows, which contrast beautifully with the narrow, clearly outlined contour. The clock is placed behind the human face in the arrangement, with the charcoal shadow following in the backdrop. The entire aircraft is engaged and used. The drawing comprises shapes that are made possible by the lack of drawings, which take the form of empty negative shapes. These forms are evenly dispersed throughout the drawing to produce a clear visual flow. The drawing ensures harmonious composition through color dispersion; the gray shadows flow with the thin layer of charcoal shades. The contour lines create a clear distinction between negative spaces that defines the woman's face and the clock fixed in half. The thin outlines that join the two objects act as the focal point that engages the eye in a visual flow.

Focal Points and Perspective

The primary focal point is the center of the drawing where the woman's face fix with the clock. The focal points are created by converging shapes and lines that appear at one-thirds of the canvas. By way of perspective, the drawing creates the illusion of space and volume with the use of varying object shape and size which comes in the form of clocks of different value and sizes dispersed throughout the drawing canvas.

Message of Productivity and Time Management

The portrait of the drawing propagates a message of productivity that conflicts with the time factor. Woman are best at balancing their daily duties while balancing the little time they have. The element of productivity is depicted in the woman while the element of timeliness is seen all over the drawing with arrangements clocks showing different time values. The woman and the clock are also torn into two which cements the overall message of time management.

Achievements and Limitations

The drawing succeeds in propagating the message to the viewer; the viewer can quickly make meaning the drawing. Overall balance, the presence of negative shapes and perspective adds in making the document achieve harmony. Nonetheless, the artwork fails to achieve perfection; some shadings spill over negative shapes creating a less impressive outlook.

Conclusion

In the end, the drawing demonstrates a clear understanding of the principles of drawing and implements drawing techniques as taught in class. By balancing major drawing principles along with visual techniques, the final artwork made use of shadow casting, composition, focal point, form, ground, negative shape and golden section and demonstrated by using the rule of third.

Three-Dimensional Artwork

The drawing incorporates three dimensions at the drawings' focal point. The join between the woman's face can be viewed from different perspectives, making it a three-dimensional artwork. The element of shallow space in the drawing creates an illusion of limited depth that is created by the layering of the clocks with different sizes that also creates a measurable area of defined space creates through illusion, also known as volume. The composition is visible throughout the finished artwork; harmony is created by the equidistant placement of objects that establishes recognizable focal points and visual flows. In conclusion, the drawing succeeds in conveying clear intentions and message. In my opinion, this piece of artwork combines multiple techniques to create a harmonious whole.
