This memo's primary purpose is to let you know that I'm interested in the project manager post. I am aware that you need a capable manager to carry on with the project. This memo includes a job description, an explanation of why I would make a good project manager, and an audience analysis.
A project manager's duties
A project manager's duties include supervising, planning, and budgeting the project as well as making sure it is completed on schedule. I'll outline the reasons I'm the best applicant for the project management role. Given that I have been in the company for some years, I have gained the necessary skills needed for the position. Furthermore, I have been following the project closely. As such, I am up to speed with the requirements of the project. Additionally, I have the needed skills to complete the project as required.
Proper planning and project definition
According to Munns & Bjeirmi (1996), the success of a project depends on proper planning and adequately defining the project. I am good at planning projects so that to ensure they are completed within the set deadline. There are many skills that a project manager should possess, touching upon such spheres as communication, leadership, problem-solving, negotiation, and decision making (Marando, 2012). I possess well-developed communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills as well as the knowledge in the technological sphere, mentoring staff members, and participating in negotiations.
Relevant educational qualifications
I have the relevant educational qualifications that match the position. Through my educational qualifications, I am confident that I can handle the job as required. I have two years experience as deputy project manager. During this time, I have always completed projects on time. I would be thankful for the opportunity to work on this project. Having worked for a similar company for over five years, I am qualified for this position. I hope to get the project manager's job. As a graduate in project management, I have the knowledge which will be a great addition to the organization. Furthermore, I have strong managerial skills and an eye for detail. Everything mentioned above makes me the ideal candidate for the position.
Effectiveness and efficiency for project success
According to Osorio, Quelhas, Zotes, Shimoda & Franca (2014), the success of any project is determined by effectiveness and efficiency. Therefore, it is vital to connect the project objectives to the organization's goals. Through my previous experience, there is no doubt that I will deliver the project effectively and efficiently. I would like to be considered for the post of a project manager. From my experience, it is clear that I am qualified for the post. I am well-versed with the project since I have been following closely on it. I may not be seasoned, but I can comfortably handle the project. I have a proven track record for meeting tight deadlines. It is also necessary to work with the team to complete the project. I will also hire a qualified deputy project manager to assist me.
