I can attribute the thoughts that McConnell-Ginet and Eckert articulate in their article, "Learning to be Gendered" to my interactions with other personalities in the society.
According to Eckert and McConnell-Ginet, adults in the community play a significant position in the behaviors of a child by executing various activities that ensure a child resorts to a unique gender role. Scholars argue that during childhood parents socialize children to behave in the manners that the adults become aware of to be suitable to the sex of the child. Conformation to the ideas regarding the gender of an individual is significantly limiting and makes people selective in the things to do that they execute at a given time. In particular, males often prefer activities that are challenging and require the use of much energy. Therefore, from the differentiation of the roles that different genders need to perform, it is deducible that conforming to the ideas about gender is significantly limiting.
Conformation to the ideas about gender roles is also limiting by prompting an individual to perceive others in a given common way.
Consequently, the tasks that I assign to others in the society critically depend on the opinions that I hold, not the facts about the capabilities of personalities. In particular, I often perceive the females to be individuals who need light tasks compared to the males hence influencing the manner in which I assign roles to the people who surround me. Also, I view females to be endangered and need protection from the various situations that can hurt humankind. Adherence to the ideas about gender roles is also limiting for the women in the society, whom I perceive to be meek in matters such as dating and relationships.
The article "Tinder and the Dawn of Dating Apocalypse" addresses the situation where the young males are consistently changing their sex partners.
Sales (1) argue that the interactions between the various genders in the society have developed due to the general perceptions that communities hold. In my view, it is normal for the men to engage in multiple sexual relationships with the females without the need to fear anything. On the contrary, girls in the society are confined and are not supposed to initiate the need for changing a sex partner. The ideas that I hold towards relationships gender roles is that the females are expected to be child bearers thus need to show specified forms of behaviors thus limiting the freedom of the ladies.
Finally, the adherence to ideas concerning gender roles is significantly limiting because it influences the way I communicate with the society members.
Notably, the feeling that females require gentle voice and beautiful presents have prompted me to ensure that I change my tone while addressing the women to make sure that I do not scare them. Also, the type of gestures that I offer to the males significantly differs from the one I accord the females. In essence, the need to change my communication strategies while addressing a given gender is a limitation to the interactions in the society.
In summary, conformity to the gender roles is significantly limiting my interactions with the various members of the society.
As discussed in this essay, adherence to the ideas about gender roles has immensely influenced my social relations and has affected the various decisions that I make in life. Therefore, it is evident that the conformity to the gender roles is limiting.
