In Missouri, I work as a registered nurse. Being one of the healthcare delivery platforms, I am writing to convey my thoughts on children's healthcare reforms. I believe that everyone should be more concerned about children's welfare because they are the future of this beautiful country, and as such, their healthcare should be a top priority. Through this, I want to express my gratitude for your work in passing children's healthcare reforms. Nonetheless, I believe that while you continue to debate this subject, the following points should be addressed. Improvement of Vaccine for Children (VFC) program is critical. The VFC program should be improved to cater for all children who are not able to access the vaccination. The aspect could be done by sponsored mobilization to sensitize all those families concerned. Public education should also be applied as a means of educating the public on the importance of taking children for all vaccinations as per the requirements.
Adoption of a public health insurance that covers even the children is necessary. I believe that an effective public insurance could go a long way also to cover children to avert child deaths due to inaccessibility of health services on financial grounds. The aspect can be achieved by including one’s children as beneficiaries of the insurance coverage. That calls for major reforms in this area.
These are a few of the critical issues that am looking forward and that may well have a positive change in the best healthcare delivery in the state of Missouri. I, therefore, hope you proceed carefully, so we do not completely erode the children’s healthcare system that we have in place today.
Thank you for considering my views. I am delighted to share directly with you or your staff about these and other healthcare issues at your convenience.
Sincerely,
