Movie Review

The film about Genghis Khan is made by BBC. The film starts with a small party welcoming a new-born deep in the heart of Asia. The new-born turns out to be Genghis Kahn. The movie narration points out that the child used to be born clutching a clot of blood which is a sign that he was destined to be a notable warrior, and he was to become a legend in his life. The film further brings out a more exciting character of Genghis Khan apart from what he has been viewed to as the reincarnation of evil.

A historical biopic with a literary source, the epic tale of Genghis Khan's formative years of uniting the fielding tribes of Mongolia and transforming them into a powerful nation is also recorded. Genghis Khan forms a disciplined army with revolutionary tactics.

Eventually, the army moves ahead and gets on to some blood-spraying combat when taking over Beijing, a city in Northern China surrounded by a wall 12 meters high and 30 kilometers long, and behind the wall is one of the world's most advanced armies. Hailed as a master tactician, Genghis Khan leads his army to victory and ultimately takes control of the most protected city. Being a ruthless leader of the Mongols, his tactics and sovereignty over the vast empire, Genghis Khan ruled the largest empire ever known to man.

The film then flashes back to 1170 in Mongolia when a tyro-tyrant young boy named Temudjin, who would become Genghis Khan, rides on a horse back home only to find his father has been fatally poisoned by a rival tribe. At only nine years-old, Temudjin is still a cute and cuddly child but the news he receives gives him the title of Khan. Ten years later, his wife is abducted and Temudjin turns to his childhood friend, Jabuka, who helps him reclaim his wife and eliminate one of the great Mongol tribes when he is barely twenty years of age.

With its numerous plot twists and a colourful cast, the movie serves as great entertainment. The actors used, the army soldiers appear in an ancient army outfit using horses, arrows, and spears at the battlefield. The gorgeous action scenes and the impressive dialogue hold the audience's attention and keep them on the edges of their seats. Genghis Khan BBC 1/5 is creative, exciting, as well as dark and well worth a few minutes of your time.
