In the modern world, technology is available everywhere, and the internet has ingrained itself into our daily lives. The majority of the things we do in our daily lives today involve technology or computers in some way. Children are now using technology at an earlier age as a result. Nowadays, the majority of children have access to iPods and iPads, which they regularly use. This raises the question of whether youngsters are more social or smarter as a result of the internet. Do the majority of kids who use the internet frequently just use it for socializing or do they also use it to learn alongside their friends? Today’s children are becoming e smarter because of the internet? With most of the children using the internet often, are they just using to socialize or they are learning with other friends? According to studies, 87% of youths aging between 12 to 17 years are now online and can be able to access all sorts of materials that they require (Forsė, 16). This is an increase of about 24% when compared to the last five years, which leads to policymakers and parents to worry regarding the access to the world of data has at the younger age (Shin, 661). As we all know childhood pertains all about exploration. Though children are shaped by the exploration of internet and computers due to the interactive world full of technology. Use of the internet is revolutionizing the children’s communication, play, and learning (Cenameri, 571). Most of the countries have introduced the use of computers in schools thus replacing the book with electronic books or researching via interest.

Learning skills

Children are curious and want to learn many things at their tender age. It is excellent, as they can learn by watching thus being in tune with the modern technology to accelerate their learning skills and catch easily (Shin, 654). Most of the psychologist have started answering the questions regarding children and the internet although studies show the use of home internet has indicated standardized improvement in the reading test scores of children. Other researchers have concluded that having home internet has geared children in becoming self-directed learners. This plays a vital part when it comes to school learning of the children.

Socialization

“Socialization focuses on the individual interaction with surrounding in the social setting (Forsė, 16).” Children learning may depend on the level of exposure on the internet but does not necessarily mean they will become social. Most of the children are struck by electronic gadgets, mobile phones, or computers than they are staying while playing with other kids as well as meeting other people. They are mostly glued to their electronic devices and will not get off to meet other people unless they tell them to. Similarly, in the streets when you meet children hanging around with their friends you just meet them on their phones texting instead of talking to one another. Moreover, despite the importance that the internet provides to the children, it is crucial for them to spend quality time with their parents, friends, and family (Cenameri, 571). This is because in the “real world” when they will be searching for jobs as well as learning to talk professionally they will not be able to if they entirely rely on the internet although internet can help them to become more open-minded (Shin, 650).

Education

In the context of education, use of internet has played a vital role in advancing the education system and skills. Children can access a wide variety of educational data as well as tutors via web enabling them to conduct extensive research, which would have to be tedious using physical books. Nevertheless, internet teaches children to concentrate simpler. While examining utilizing the internet children take further intrigue (Forsė, 18). This is because they find it tiresome when examining old books that are not upgraded for a specific duration of time. Children are encouraged by their professors to use the internet in their research as it provides credible sources that provide detailed information and further their understanding. It thus offers vibe and genuine cases to enable their academic development.

Through the internet, children can learn things, which they may not have seen in real life that can help them. For instance, seen someone’s mistakes helps them to keep away from doing activities that lead to such blunders. This is why the generation is changing due to the use of Web as it creates new ways that children can learn. The internet improves their critical review skills and cognition as it enables their brains to engage in activities that are complex at their tender age (Cenameri, 571). Nevertheless, the internet has its drawbacks. Due to the internet, it is easily accessed to information children are not retaining information for an extended period as they can obtain the data in the web quickly.

Additionally, when compared to traditional ways, the internet is unique by developing academic performance in a more fun environment, which depends on how the child uses it. As an individual age, being social and smart is significant which can be accessed through sites such as Facebook and Twitter (Forsė, 16). Therefore, children should not be left alone while exploring the internet as many hackers are waiting to get confidential data as children can be easily tricked. To sum up, use of internet enable children to further their skills, education development, change, access to information and socialization.
