Invictus

"Invictus" is a short poem written by the Victorian British poet William Ernest Henley. It was written in 1875 and published in the Book of Verses in 1888, under the section Life and Death. Its message is one of self-discipline and fortitude in the face of adversity. While the poem is not particularly long, it is nevertheless very powerful. They are aimed at inspiring self-discipline and fortitude in adversity The Invictus series of books aims to inspire self-discipline and fortitude under adversity. These books are written by notable writers and include the poem of the same name by W. Ernest Henley. In this book, the poet argues that the only way to defeat adversity is to remain unshaken. Invictus was written by Henley in 1875. Henley dedicated it to Robert Thomas Hamilton Bruce, a flour merchant from Scotland. Henley published the poem in 1888, but did not give it a title until a few years later in a volume of poetry, The Oxford Book of English Verse. They are held in Zuiderpark, The Hague, Netherlands In the summer of 2020, the Dutch city will host the Invictus Games, which will feature hundreds of athletes from 20 nations.
