Corruption and gender inequality are inextricably linked. Gender inequity undermines proper administration, development outcomes, consistent growth, and poverty alleviation. Females perceive, experience, and suffer from corruption in ways that men do not (International 1). Women's political, social, and economic responsibility in a country shapes how they interact with others and makes them vulnerable to specific types of corruption, such as sexual extortion. Because women are the major caregivers for the elderly and children in a society, they are more likely to encounter fraud in their everyday interactions with health, education, and other community services. Due to this gender injustice in the society which keeps women in more social responsibilities, female face many corruption cases than male. According to the United Nations research, about seventy percent of the poor people are women (International 1). The poverty mostly comes as a result of corruption. Also, bribery worsens gender injustices due to its connection with poverty and distorting how resources, revenue as well as services are shared between different individuals in the society. Establishing a link between gender inequalities and corruption may assist to expand an improved understanding of corrupt activities and draft efficient plans to combat them.

Where nations make progress of female empowerment and gender impartiality, they observe minimal levels of corruption over time. One of the agendas of combating corruption in the contemporary society is to empower women. Advanced standards of female's rights and participation in societal life are connected with the better administration and minimum levels of corruption (International 2). Female are an essential source for comprehending corruption and scheming efficient plans to handle the problems which affect their daily lives. When a society has a better administration and lower levels of corruption, the benefits are reaped by both male and female. From various studies, women have been regarded as less corrupt than men. There is enough evidence and growing agreements in most regions of the world showing that women engaged in administration or parliament are less prone to fraud (International 2). Therefore, when societies maintain higher levels of women's rights, the females get elected into different administration position and eventually transform the world by combating corruption.


Surprising Facts


The surprising fact is that the report produced by global corruption barometer in 2013 shows that a bigger portion of female does not know where to report corruption or are scared of the impacts of reporting dishonesty cases (International 4). This is because if women are critiqued thoroughly, they can be found to be the best individuals when it comes to reporting any form of situation. In the contemporary world, females no longer fear males or consequences of reporting any corruption case since they are fully empowered. Women in most societies of the world have representatives who speak on behalf of all female and ensure that their rights are observed by men (International 2). Many women have also been employed in high positions of leadership in the society hence they participate in fighting corruption. More men are reporting cases of corruption to women leaders today than in the past. Due to the good leadership style of women, they have been entrusted with many roles in the society by both men and their fellow female individuals whom they lead.
