Teaching listening, speaking, writing, and reading skills to learners involves using various methods of teaching and evaluation. This essay compares evaluation methods used by to teachers, their effectiveness, and areas of improvement.

The task chosen is right because it not only promotes student learning but also gives the student an opportunity to demonstrate what they have achieved in the unit (Rundel, 2016). The task that has been set is also practical and gives the students ideas they can relate to.
Encouraging students to brainstorm is a good approach. It encourages them to share ideas among themselves. The writing process is all about brainstorming. It helps lay a foundation of where a writer should start. Apart from this, it helps provide clarity, especially in a case where the writer has harbored many ideas in their mind. Additionally, it opens the mind by encouraging one to think deeply. Brainstorming helps bring an idea to life. Speaking out the idea helps to give it rhythm. Therefore, in pushing the students to voice ideas, Janine has used the right approach.
Lastly, providing students with a sample from where they can base their writing was a good idea. The sample letter drafted by the students was essential in many ways. For one, it encourages each student to express themselves since they all get to pitch their ideas. Secondly, it provides clarity so that when it comes to writing the letter individually, the student will have an idea of what is expected of them and what to write about.
In this assessment, the right approach has been taken. However, emphasis should be placed on spelling and structure since these two things form the very basis of writing. The students need to be encouraged to use the correct spelling and to organize their work.

The picture sequencing approach is well thought of and is also a great approach. Pictures provide useful teaching aids in class since they help the students learn to speak and write. Also, they acquire other skills like learning how to be observant and practicing on their ability to recollect events (Wright, 1989).
This approach is meaningful because it equips the students with the ability to order events. It boosts their reasoning thus helping them to become better writers. Additionally, the students get to learn the logical sequence and patterns of various events. This way, they can connect different words and phrases to form grammatically correct sentences. By logically ordering the pictures, the students are able to tell a story based on a series of events. This further boosts their writing capabilities.
However, it would be important for Chelsea to emphasize on the organization of the ideas. When a student is able to order a sequence of events correctly, then they can also write or tell a story that has a proper flow of events. Picture sequencing is a nice approach to take so as to enhance the writing skills of students. However, it would be better to add something extra like strip or story sequencing (Raimes, 1983). This will further boost their level of thinking, inference, and reasoning.
