Ethics are the socially acceptable acts and demeanors. One must adhere to moral principles at work to achieve productivity. These work ethics are what keep a business running smoothly and at its best. Every action I take at work is motivated by a single principle: Everyone in every industry and profession needs ethics because what they do has an impact on those who were not given the opportunity to decide what happens. To reduce the quantity of crime and injustices committed against the general public, the industry needs an ethical justification. I believe that I have a high level of ethical reasoning in my area of work. It is fundamental to understand that one ought to be able to focus on the implicature of every decision they contemplate and make because they result in actions which will have consequences. The consequences could be positive or negative, so I think on an ethical base standing on a founded ethical research before making any decision. I make sure to find out as much as I can about the decision am making and even the people it is going to affect before, during and after implementation.
There things that are right and wrong about conduct the of human beings. People have a set of standards which are chiefly guided by the personal values of the individual. These standards are tested and play a major role when an
Individual faces challenge when making these decisions. As a profession, I tap into my values and integrate what is wrong and what is right to solve the dilemma I face while executing my job. It is a continuous process where I make decisions ethically every day making sure my decisions are the best for both the institution and the community that expects nothing less but good things from us.
Ethical reasoning like any other skill builds and nurtured every day. It is like a plant you have to water regularly to flourish. I identify a situation; assess it with a sober mind making the right ethical argument for the particular situation viewing it from different ethical positions.
Honesty is an important ethical value that guarantees the success of an individual and even the institution. An individual should know the subtle implication of honesty as a value in the workplace. I am an individual who values honesty because dishonest has a price that is too high to pay concerning negative consequences which an individual can avoid by being honest and straightforward. Everyone despite the rank could ruin a business with dishonesty because we need an honest delivery person to give the right information. The information given says by the accounts persons should be done with honesty so that we have information legitimacy. When the manager reports to the owner to reports to the investors and even files the taxes, he or she should do it with all honesty. When one or more players in the cycle are dishonest, then there are likely to present an ugly situation where people feel that they are being taken for a ride and could cause the ruin of the institution.
Values mean everything to me because the workplace would be a hell hole without a set of values to guide people what to do and what not to do. Values help people think of their actions first, and this ensures peaceful coexistence among workers and even between the institution and the community at large. I have a values article stuck on my office wall to keep on reminding me what I should do and what not to do for the good of everyone. I put on my shoulder a heavy reminder that my actions have consequences and thus I am careful about every decision I make that results to an action.
I use ethical reasoning to make a wise decision. I am not a god lest I sound like one but with the help of research and inviting all reasonable criticism to a situation I try and make the best out of every situation. So I often do the right thing not on my own but creating a team base that is committed to making everything work and works right and ethically for forwarding progress of the institution. An ethical work routine creates a positive work environment which yields positive results to everyone that is directly and indirectly involved.
It is difficult to know what the right thing is always sometimes we interpret an occurrence and think through it and make a decision thinking it is the best but it yields the wrong results. So no to answer the question if I always make the right decisions. I go wrong so many times but the mature thing I have learned over the years is to take responsibility for my actions when am wrong and learn from my mistakes. A wrong I did three years ago is now my perfect lesson I so good at doing that thing I went wrong. It also provides the organization and even me with referral notes. People are more careful not to do what was done in a situation that went wrong, and with each passing situation I encounter and make decisions about I have become better.
I think I have what it takes to be ethical at work. I have come a long way now falling and picking up the pieces and running again. Ethical values have to be integrated within oneself to bear fruits. I have personal standards and values that drive me which when fused with the mission of the organization and the core values at the workplace then they produce wonderful results which involve being nothing short of ethical at work. I know that I am capable of being ethical because I have I have a firm base of ethics, and I keep reminding myself by even going to seminars and work groups to cement my values of work and ensure I am at per with emerging issues.
A truth that has existed since Aristotle is that the values that are written down can be followed and can also be ignored by the employees. Personal ethics are important, and all but one sure thing is that one has to know cooperate values and where the lines are crossed between personal and cooperate values. This is done so that an individual understands where to squeeze and where to expand so that they fit best in their profession. One has to be able to put emotions at bay at times to get the work done and done ethically in regards to cooperate values which are the ruling values in the workplace. One's professional profile among the people you work with should be intact to help you have ease of doing your work. So personal ethics cannot be enough at the workplace we have to be bound by a common belief of values so that we don't clash as an institution but move in the same direction with everyone's best interest at heart.
I believe one needs proper work ethics to be able to scale the heights of success in any workplace. How you work ethics are can greatly contribute to considerable opportunities in an individual's career. Special in the sense that you do your work thoroughly. Values that have been found to cut across all carriers like wisdom, temperance, transcendence, humanity, and courage should be a starting point for anyone who wants to spearhead his career and be in control of what happens to your career. One has to be able to put the company's interest first and fit into the system as one of them. Robert Shaw says that one can only achieve positive results by making sure their actions reflect care for others and show integrity in what they do. This is the only sure way according to Robert that the individual can raise the level of trust. People will appreciate a member who has a sense of teamwork and is disciplined at the workplace; everyone wants to work with such a co-worker. People expect to be respected, and if you give that, then you are sure to win your way into their hearts.
