An interview with a health-care administrator in charge of policy formulation
Me: To begin, I'd like to inform you that I will be presenting this interview to my students and would appreciate your permission to do so.
Administrator: No problem, I don't mind at all, thank you.
My first question is, how does your company satisfy the requirements of culturally diverse people?
Administrator: We meet this through receiving financing from the government as well as donors, which allows us to contact a diverse variety of individuals about their distinct culture.
Me: How does your position in the organization affect healthcare policy?
Administrator: as an administrator, I have an oversight role ensuring that all the policy stipulated by the health care act is strictly adhered to by the healthcare staff.
Me: what oversight agencies does your organization report to?
Administrator: we report to the National Institute of Health as the major alongside other governmental oversight agencies nearly all of them related to this field.
Me: what is your main role as an organization?
Administrator: just as the name suggests, the organization is tasked with the mandate to develop policies governing health care both regarding administration, service delivery, medication and much more.
Me: what impact does this organization have in the healthcare society at large?
Administrator: the impact is huge as this organization is the leading healthcare policy developer in the country with most of our suggestions comments and recommendations acceptable to the countries health care body.
Me: what are some of the challenges you face as an organization?
Administrator: every organization faces challenges, and this one is not an exception, the challenges range from, financial problems, inadequate infrastructure, shortage in personnel, high expectations of standards from the oversight bodies and many others.
